Should Disney set up a system to book ADRs online?

  • Yes, great idea for me and for the world at large!

  • Yes, even if it causes some problems, it's a good idea

  • No, it would not work and would mess up the system

  • No, it would work for me but it's not fair

  • Who knows? or other...

So maybe I'm dreaming, but if we can book everything from hotels to grocery delivery orders online, why not Disney ADRs?

It would be sooo lovely to be able to check availability on a website. Travelocity, Priceline, and Ebay all manage to deal with constantly changing availability/inventory... could it work for Disney ADRs?

What do you think? Do you think it would be possible to set up a workable system to do ADRS online? Would it be fair? Would it just mess up the system by making it even easier to reserve and then be a no-show?

I have no idea at all if it would ever be possible but I know I sure would like it!

It would be great, but I wish that ADRs were actual reservations requiring a CC to book with a $$ penalty for non-cancelation before 24 hours. At all TS restaurants including character venues and buffets. The system should block any double bookings based on name, telephone, reservation #, credit card # used, e-mail, or isp if at all possible. People would still find ways around it but it would sure help stop the inconsiderate, selfish practice of double ( & triple & fourple) booking. And definately help stop the speculative bookers who don't show up & never cancel.

One can only wish......

yes, i would absolutely love it!

(the overplanner, "call-exactly-at-180-days", organized and knows precisely what we want to eat, when, and where family we are would love it!)

it would be extremely helpful, provided you knew how to "use" it online

otherwise - it might become a nightmare for some people...

but not us!!

I can't believe I'm reading this thread!! I was walking my DD in her stroller for our daily walk today when I started thinking about this EXACT SAME TOPIC:idea: I was thinking about the craziness that surrounds the CRT breakfast and if online ADRs would work in that situation. Are we linked somehow, Northstar??

Cue Twilight Zone theme:listen:

I voted no on this just because Disney is so bad at doing web sites. Its a constant amazement to me that they can't give you a site that lets you go directly to where you want to go without having to sit through a flash intro and without having music playing.

Now if they had a simple site where you could go in, make your selection and get out quickly, I'd consider it.

:wave2: :wave2: Sure, great minds think alike!

We already use an online website (Opentable.com) for making reservations at different restaurants so one specifically for Disney modelled after this would be a great idea. :thumbsup2

I am all for it, as long as someone besides Disney does the web site! It's not that difficult to create. I'll volunteer my services....

:dance3:

I would only want an on line ADR processing system if it was guaranteed secure and accurate. Disney's track record with their website is pretty poor. I would be afraid of ADRs disappearing from the system :sad2: .

I would like to be able to use a website to just view my existing ADRs made by calling Disney Dining, though.

I know, it almost sounds hypocritical, but :confused3 .

Well, I was going to post my comments but you've said it for me! I agree 100%.

barndweller has a good point. It would sure make things much more convenient but it would have to be so that there aren't problems on the site all the time since that would be even more frustrating that having to call long distance.

Hope they don't people abuse enough with multiple ressis now. Imagine how bad it would be if one doesn't have to call,in a perfect world this would be great!
