Should DF and I have a reveal before the ceremony??

I'm torn on this too. I want the moment for just us to share...but still want the WOW moment when I walk down the aisle. Can't have your cake and eat it too on this one I'm gonna have to do some serious thinking about this....

I'm not doing a reveal. We have two kids so we'll be staying in the same room, but he'll be leaving in the limo while I'm still getting my make-up and hair done. After I'm finished with that, I'll get dressed. If our families were more accomodating, I'd make him stay in another room and not see me the night before the wedding either.

I want the suspense and surprise when he sees me walking down the aisle all dressed up - versus seeing me day in and day out in my Suzie Homemaker t-shirts and shorts, LOL. He has requested that I wear a veil for him to lift - so I guess he's looking forward to the aisle scene too.

But the thing is, with a staged first look, you DO have a WOW moment in your bridal gear - it's just earlier in the day!

Look at DH's face during our first look - he started crying....

DS and DIL did this at their wedding. She wanted to cry without the rest of the world. She did (but so did HE!). THe photographer caught a lot of it.

I was a bit disappointed I could not see DS's face as he first saw her...

But, that's what THEY wanted and it was THEIR wedding!

I just happened to click on this thread because i didn't know what a reveal was... i'm glad i did becuase this is a cool idea! I've never heard of it before!

Dfi and I aren't going very traditional so i'm starting to wonder if maybe this would be a good idea for us. Thank you OP for bringing this up!
