Hello everyone. I am new here.

We are going to be in Disney in December. I booked the package dinner with the Holiday Candlelight Processional in Epcot. We chose to eat at Coral Reef. Is this a good choice? Where would you eat? Please help.

Michael

While I enjoyed my meal there my DH and nieces did not...honestly I think there are much better TS places in Epcot than CR..but they do not have the great view of fishies!

NOTE: The Coral Reef is an interesting respite from normal
dining, as the wall is a huge aquarium. One can see the fish and
the divers tending to the fish and tank. The food, unfortunately
has gone to the "average" zone. For some of the better dishes,
try the Mussels for a appy and the trout for the entree. Other
selections, like the chicken, are run-of-the-mill.

I've had some wonderful meals at CR in the past, but the main problem is the service. I don't understand it, it takes forever to get your food and even longer to get your bill, no matter the time of year!

We really enjoyed our meal at the Coral Reef. Although none of us had seafood. I had the chicken dish. DD had the pizza kids meal. (You can see pics of the restaurant and the dessert and drink I got -- as well as the mini-review I wrote -- in our November trip report. See link below.) My DD, age 6 at the time, thought the aquarium was really neat and we enjoyed identifying the fish that swam by. It was something unique that we wouldn't be able to do outside of the World. So we appreciated that aspect of it.

We're doing the Candlelight Processional this year and we're doing dinner at Biergarten. We're doing Biergarten primarily because we're taking my parents this year and my mom and dad are of German and Polish heritage. These are foods they ate growing up.

We gave it another try after a few years of not going. We were there in August and really liked it a lot. I had the fish special and it was delicious. DH had steak and my kids both had fish. Everyone loved their food and we were seated right at the tank.
We're going back in April and the first thing my dd asked was whether or not we were eating there again. So, back we'll go.....

We're doing Coral Reef for the CP this December as well. I have always enjoyed the food there (though I've definitely seen mixed reviews on the boards, and my mom wasn't crazy about her meal), but we really love eating by the aquariums. My brother (who is not the planner in our family!) only asks to eat at the Coral Reef, so we end up here a lot.

I think it's a great choice! We've been to the Coral Reef four times over our last five visits and have thoroughly enjoyed every meal we've had there.
