My husband has an issue every time we go away with being bothered by a 'rash' on his thighs from his shorts after about the 2nd day. Does anyone have a suggestion (other than losing 30 lbs) that can prevent this? He has tried powder and even vaseline when it gets bad but I would rather prevent it.

Baby powder works well to prevent it. It's too late once it appears.

Try a lighter weight pair of shorts. Jean shorts = chafing, especially if they get wet. He could try a pair of like basketball or other athletic shorts that are breathable.

I have seen that people use astroglide or body glide, but I have no experience with that so I can only tell you that they exist.

I had that problem too but don't anymore. I bought these biker underwear that go under regular shorts and don't ride up or anything. They've worked great.

But I only used them for our August trip. For the rest of the trips I used Bodyglide and it worked like a charm. No more chafing. I also bought and used Blistershield and that works great too.

I used lotion and put up with it .. of course it finally began to go away when we left ..

buying longer length shorts.

For myself I wear capri pants. I know that not plausable for men but thought i would tell it anyway.

My husband has this problem too. He wears his swim shorts. He has a couple of "nice" pairs that are not "swim suit" color - a dark blue and black. This material dries quick, if it gets wet and the sweat does not stick to his skin. Having said that - we still bring the baby power and large tube of ointment - just in case.

Lotion on inner thighs when dressing in morning pretty well prevents it. I have used it for years and it got rid of that problem. I also wear a bit longer shorts and that seems to help. Those lighter weight shorts seem to ride up on me, so I wear denim shorts mostly....I am female but it works for both sexes so I have heard... :sunny:

The only thing I have to add is the Medicated Gold Bond powder in the gold bottle works for me but I'm going to check out this bodyslide stuff.
