Shortest wait times for The Mummy?

We're going to Universal Friday March 7th  and I was wondering typically when during the day are the lines shortest for the Mummy? Also how bad do you think crowds will be around this time? Any input would be much appreciated! :)

Get there before opening. You will have the parks pretty much to yourself.

Agrred, Park Opening = shortest wait times. You can easily go through the line, ride, exit, and repeat several times in 30 mins. :)

We were there in August 2007 (peak time). We arrived at the park about 15 min prior to opening each day. Once the rope dropped we just went right to the Mummy and were able to ride it several times with no wait at all. Also, for Men in Black, go to the single rider line. Sometimes we got in the same car, other times we might be split up and in a car or two behind or on the other side. The wait time in the regular line was over an hour (we didn't have FOTL). We were on the ride in less than 5 minutes using the single rider line.

If you happen to visit Universal Studios Florida in the middle of the day, I would recommend that you use the single riders' line. You can wait as little as a few minutes to a maximum of 15 minutes. I do not recall waiting any longer than 15 minutes during the busiest times.

Certainly, your park will have to break up into groups of one person or less in the single riders' line, but the savings in time will be immense compared to the regular wait of 60 plus minutes.

We were there same time in '06 during the start of Spring Break fearing the worst, but as mentioned, get to the park as it opens and the rides are more or less a walk on.

Just plan the 'big rides' you want, hit them first, then relax and do the rest.

FOTL really annoys me, having to pay extra after forking out so much for tickets before hand!

FOTL is not just for those who pay. It is free and unlimited if you are staying onsite.

I consider it "included" and not "free" in the $324 a night room that I'm not even going to be sleeping in! LOL! :lmao:

Sorry, but I have a thing about saying something is "free". You're paying for it in the price of the room, but I'd say it's "included".

Sure. It is a perk. However, when you compare the prices of the deluxe Universal Hotels to the Deluxe Disney hotels, the Universal Hotels are cheaper and they include the express pass. So, they could be called "free". Everything is relative when you talk about prices but I'll go along with calling it included and not free.

Why would you pay $324 for a room and not sleep in it?

Good question! It's because we're getting it in the middle of our stay for the FOTL access during a VERY busy week that I think the FOTL access will be imperative. We'd rather stay in our 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo where we'll be so much more comfortable to sleep. The cost of 2 days of 2 park Express Passes for 5 of us would be $545, so the outrageous hotel at $364 including tax is actually a better deal even though we won't use the room.

We may bring swimsuits and use the room for changing during the day and take a break at the resort pool on the first day. I guess at least then, we'd enter the room and use it a little!

Our only Universal experience was Universal Hollywood a few years ago and I remember waiting in line an hour for several attractions, and just can't bear to repeat that again! We're used to Disney's fastpass and never waiting more than 10-15 minutes for anything (and not paying for the benefit either!). So, we're spoiled, I guess, and just would not visit a park where the only alternative was long waits in line.

We do have 2 other Universal days planned during our visit where we won't have Express Pass or FOTL from the resort. Our plan is to arrive before opening, and do rides until lines get long, and then leave early on those days. Our intense ride days will be the 2 days mid-trip with FOTL. Hope this is a good plan, because we don't really know Universal touring! :goodvibes But I've picked up great information from this board!

Just got back today!

We rode the Mummy many times!! Wait time always said 10 minutes. Even during the busy Saturday. The time it takes you to walk to get on the ride is the longest. Once we got to the ride we got right on each time. More people were at IOA, so this is a good ride for US to have.
