Shortest Trip?

What is the shortest trip you've taken? We're thinking of doing 3 park days, 4 nights at one of the All Stars. Which is about how long I can handle those resorts haha. I'm worried that it's almost too short.

All of my trips have been between 6-8 days. I have a trip for Feb 2018 booked already, but I'm looking at doing a trip Sept 2018 with friends. It would be Fri to Sun just to see the MNSSHP (I think that's the right combination for letters), Epcot, and Hollywood Studios. So I too want to see how other people's short trips went!

We like taking short, frequent trips. They always provide something nice to look forward to, and they are still extremely enjoyable and meaningful to us as I plan them carefully. They also work for us because we're only a 2 and 1/2 hour nonstop flight from Orlando. We've got a 4-night trip coming up this August. We're doing one long park hopping day at all 4 parks, two days at water parks, and one resort day. Looking forward to it!

One tip for short trips is to arrive as early as possible on arrival day, and leave as late as possible on departure day. That allows for unpacking & packing to not take place during your activity days, so they feel less hectic. And of course, your trip is a little longer that way, too. Another tip is to build downtime into even a short trip. Don't go commando the whole time, any more than you would go commando the whole time on a longer trip. Choose certain things that you want to focus on instead of trying to do it all.

If 4 nights works for you, do it. Enjoy!

We don't go for less than 5 nights. It just isn't worth the travel time. If we lived 4-5 hours away, we would do shorter trips.

We've done short over nights when visiting family around Sarasota, since we're already flying down to Florida. Normally we go for a week, but it's getting harder to manage with different family vacations and such. We were heading down to Sarasota for our nieces bday in August, and decided to go to Disney and just take a day and drive down for the party instead. My husband and I haven't done more than a day trip together since our honeymoon in 2015.

Flew in on Wednesday afternoon and out on Saturday. It was a whirlwind, but so much fun!!! There wasn't much down time as there is when we take week long trips. We were able to do all the things we wanted, but we were sure tired when we got home!

I did a solo trip in Nov 2015 and I landed very late one night (no parks) had 3 commando park days and had a 7am flight out next day. I would do it again but definitely slow down and do less/Just wander. I was so exhausted from running around I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have but I specifically booked the trip just to see Osbourne lights for my first (and last) time ever.

Edit to add: when I go in September, I'll be there for 9 days, my longest trip ever and I'll be upgrading to AP so my goal in 2018 is 3-4 shorter trips (4-5 nights) whenever flights are cheap :)

One night, with Mickey's Christmas Party, before our cruise. Two nights after our cruise, wind down time.

One full day-my first solo trip. I flew all the way from Texas Friday night, getting in after midnight, spent all day Saturday in the Magic Kingdom, and flew home Sunday morning. Yes it was worth it then. We had taken a previous trip, and somehow ended up with one day left on one pass (this was back when tickets didn't expire). I teased the family that I wanted to go and use it, so my first solo trip happened -"Mom's weekend" for my Mother's Day gift.

I've done plenty of day trips that I've tacked onto business trips or as part of greater Florida trips, but my shortest on property trip was two nights at the Poly last month. Did one resort day and one resort morning, one afternoon/evening at Epcot. My second shortest stay was three nights at the Grand--totally commando trip, Disney Springs, all four parks, no resort time. Neither were ideal (though the Poly stay was probably better because I didn't feel like I was "wasting" money on the resort), and I now know I need to go for a minimum of 5 nights.

I don't think that's too short of a trip. You can hit all of the parks at least once especially if you have park hoppers.

Most people only take weekend trips.

My shortest trip was 4 nights as well. Longest was 2 weeks and I couldn't wait to go home. I think 5-7 nights is the max I can do before I grow tired of the Mouse.

Our trip in July will be our shortest, only 2 nights. At first we were supposed to drive directly to the beach (St Pete Beach) but my daughter asked to go to a hotel with a water slide for her 5th birthday instead of having a birthday party. Since her birthday is July 22nd and we were checking in at the beach on July 24th, we decided to leave early and stop to POR for 2 nights where she'll be able to enjoy two waterslides, at POR and POFQ. No park time for us, only resort and Disney Springs but it's okay since we had another super short trip in March (3 nights and 1 day at MK) after our cruise.

We never visited WDW just for WDW. We always combine with either the beach or a cruise. The longest we stayed at WDW was 8 nights at CSR and 5 park days for my youngest 3rd birthday (last trip she was free) before driving to our favourite motel in St. Pete Beach for 10 days at the beach.

One night on our way down to SWFL so we could visit our son who used to work at WDW.

Two nights. One at the Peabody via Priceline, day spent at Epcot. Next night at Royal Pacific, day at Universal. $99 r/t on Southwest.

If you keep moving you can do a LOT in a short period of time. We have trips where by the end of the first full day(after an arrival day) I can hardly believe we've only stayed one night so far. Just keep going, you can sleep on the plane or when you get home. ;)

The shortest we've done was 4 days in the parks. We have Dvc, and come often, so we thought it would be ok. Well, even though we had fun, we definitely felt it was too short! It was a tease, lol. Not enough time to do parks, and also relax. That being said, we just booked a 3 night stay at AKL, for August 4-7. We have had a rough 4 months at home... I actually had two surgeries within 30 days of each other! I am recovering well, but it has been a tough Spring. We decided to spend 3 nights at the Lodge, and not even go to any parks! We have never done anything like this before, but are really looking forward to just relaxing by the pool (pool bar), animals, restaurants, etc. I am hoping the fact that we are just hanging out at the resort, the time will go a little slower this time! I would rather go to Disney for a short trip, than no trip at all!!

Our shortest is 4 nights. We tend to average 4-5 nights. It is difficult for us to get away from work for longer than that amount of time. DH does not enjoy traveling over holiday weekends so we avoid traditional school vacation periods for the most part, with the exception of our upcoming late August trip (though I think many schools in many states are back in session by then). That said, we don't think it's worth it for the cost of flights and travel time to go for fewer than 4 nights.

3 nights almost every trip! Have a business, and a bunch of pets, so it's more stressful to vacation longer!:upsidedow

We do a deluxe hotel on the short trips, usually Poly or AKL, and enjoy the resort for most of the first arrival night, maybe a quick dip to a nearby park. Parks/resort swimming for two full days, couple hour park trip on departure day.

Short but sweet!
