shorter exchange stays

I'd like to know more about the upcoming new rule that we will be able to have shorter exchange stays through II - is it?

I did ask a CM at MS about it but don't remember all the info he gave me (I was at work and as usual, distracted). But as memory serves I do remember him saying that it won't be all II resorts, only some, and they won't know which ones for sure just yet.

Has anyone heard anything about this that can offer more information? Would be appreciated as I'd really love to be able to do 3 or 4 nights in Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket. TIA

At this point all we know is what's on the website and in the planner, that it apparently will happen. Assuming it's through II as it appears, this would be something new to them as well. Personally I'm taking a wait and see approach but I certainly wouldn't make any plans based on this possibility. My guess is it will not be nearly as helpful as some are hoping.

I spoke with my guide and he assured me it is a definate go. It will be a new thing for II since it has never done this type of thing before either. Marriott has split weeks through their own internal system but does not have the same courtesy through II. In fact Marriott is probably going to start their own exchange system based on II software but run independently of II.
