What would be the best way to make RD at MK if we are staying at the Grand Floridian (especially on an EMH day)?

Bus? - Does the bus make additional stops to other deluxe resorts after the GF pickup? Will there be additional bus service making up for the lack of monorail service in the AM?

Boat? - Again, any additional stops after you are picked up , or is it a direct trip to MK?

Cab? - Probably the most direct, but the most expensive. Already shelling out mad cash to stay at a deluxe.

unless something has changed or will change, a taxi will only get you to the TTC not MK. I have never seen cabs at MK.

Also curious about this... Have an 8:05 ADR at Crystal Palace on a day MK opens at 9:00. If buses and ferry boats start operating 1 hour before park opening how am I supposed to make my ADR on time??? Would ideally want to get tree around 7:30ish. Anyone know???

Where are you staying?

Take the resort launch. It leaves from the GF dock, stops at the Poly and the straight to MK. Short 15 minute ride. There will be at least 3 boats on the route at that time and the may add a fourth for the circumstances. Little waiting and convenient when the monorail is down.

This morning, there were 2 special bus routes running until the Resort Monorail opened:

  1. Poly, GF, MK
  2. WL, CR, MK
So GF would be the last stop before MK, but the bus would have stopped at Poly before GF.

For resort-to-resort travel, there were also "Gold Route" buses making all stops on the Resort Monorail route except for MK.

There were also buses running directly from TTC to MK until the Express Monorail opened, and buses from TTC to Epcot.

I don't know whether Epcot was running buses directly from the resorts. If not, resort Guests would need to take the Gold Route bus to TTC and transfer to the Epcot bus.

Do you know what time the bus routes started?

The Epcot bus started at 8.

The Gold Route to the resorts was running by 7:30; it probably started at 7, the same time as the monorail normally does.

I think the buses from the resorts to MK & from TTC to MK were running by 7:30, but definitely by 8.

One could take a taxi to CR/BLT and walk to MK from there. However, I would just stick with the buses they are running in place of the monorail.

DebbieB.... Staying at Port Orleans Riverside. Was thinking to take a taxi to Contemporary and walk from there. Is that possible? Will the guard let the taxi drop us off there?

You could do that. But I would ask at the front desk what time the park busses start from POR. You are not on the monorail, so this change should not affect you. I believe they start at 6:30am.

Buses from POR (and other resorts) start running at 6:30am for folks with early ADRs at the parks. Those buses will take you directly to the bus depot adjacent to the MK entrance. No need to spend $$ on a taxi to CR.

What about those of us staying offsite with early ADR at MK. I have an 815 ADR at cp. What time will the buses from TTC to MK start running. I hoping around 730 so have plenty of time to get to cp.

Assuming the buses from TTC to MK aren't running early enough:

Take the MK ferry from TTC. It starts running around 7am.

Otherwise, park at the TTC (MK parking) and walk over to the Poly and take the bus from there.

Okay thanks for the info. How far of a walk is the Poly from TTC? So can plan accordingly.

Depending on where you get to park and how fast/slow you walk, it will take 5-10 minutes to walk to the Poly from TTC. Looking at the TTC from the parking area, the walkway to the Poly (marked with signage) is to the left.
