Short trips- no FOP availability**Update!

Truly, keep trying. At 60 days out, nothing. About 45 days out I got one for each day of my 2 night stay at the end of August.

I have a short trip planned and was unable to get FoP fast-passes at my 60 day window. I was able to get them 47 days out. I checked several times a day - when I got up in the morning, when I got to work, lunch time, right after dinner, and before I went to bed. Keep trying.

Thanks! That's awesome to know! I will definitely keep checking.

We are going Oct 6-13 and I did our FP this morning. Oct 11 is our AK day and I had any choice of times for FOP FP. I wonder if Rivers of Light has anything to do with it. With ROL showing only on certain days in Oct, it's sure to increase crowds those days-- so more people vying for FOP FP. Just a theory! It may just be that the 11th is a day later and that's why it was all open. I hope you are able to snag FP for it!

Wow you are going to be there 5 days and you could not get a FOP FP. I'm sorry I have a major problem with that you are spending all this money to stay at disney at the very least disney should guarantee their on site guests a FP to the attraction esp at 60 days out at 7am. It be a different story if you logged in later or something like that.

But disney want you to spend MORE money by increasing your trip length...

We are there for 10 days and there were FPs available on day 64. I had no problem getting any time I wanted on day 9. It just depends on how long you're staying on site for.

I am worried about getting FoP for our trip Oct 15-22, I want for the last night, the 21st. But we have a "split stay" and I am not sure if I will be able to book the last day's FP+ using the first 3 days reservation for our 60 day window for whole trip. (sorry if that made little sense!)

If I read this right, then you'll effectively have two 60 day FP windows starting on the date you check into each hotel, rather than one where you can book FPs for the whole duration of your trip.

DS15 and I rope dropped (his first ever rope drop by the way) on 8-2. We were in line at 7:40 for a 9 am opening and were off the ride at 9:12. It was a long wait but the trip was last minute and that was the only way we were going to get to see the ride.

Yes, that's what is happening to me as well. We are doing a split stay (going to Universal for 3 days mid trip) and now thinking it was a bit of a mistake. First part of our trip is now only 7 days and second half is only five :(
Would have been easier to get fast passes if we had 10 straight days.

But sometimes I read people say they can book for all days, it is so confusing. FROM DIS, https://www.disboards.com/threads/the-ultimate-split-stay-thread.3322505/

4. Scheduling FP+ reservations
As long as you have valid ticket media loaded into your MDE account, you will be able to make FP reservations through the length of your stay no matter how many hotels you plan to stay at 60 days from your first reservation day. Remember, your FP+ reservation is tied to your ticket media, not your room reservation. The first day of your first reservation simply opens the window to allow you to start FP+ planning when you have a valid ticket in your account.

I think it may have to do with your tickets. With a package, a 3 night stay gives you 3 days in the park only. I have room only, with with complicated assorted tickets to deal with (cast member, guest passes, one day comp passes, etc) so who knows what will happen. If I have to wait for 2nd room to open, it will be impossible to get FoP, so we will have to adjust our plans.

This is part of the reason we split our stay as 4 days at Universal, followed by 10 at Disney. We didn't have any trouble getting FPs this way!

You should be OK if you do pandora on day 7 though - there should be at least some FP availability. Fingers crossed.

You live and learn though!

I am in the same boat. I was signed on right at 7am and all the fast passes were gone for the 7th. I am not willing to change all of my plans for one ride so rope drop it is. There are early magic hours that day so we will see how this goes. I took Na'vi instead.

This statement is correct. Plan AK as one of your final park days as your open FP window will cover all onsite park days.

We got in line (posted wait 210 mins) at 9:30pm Saturday. We were off the ride 97mins later. I'd try around that time. I could see that the queue did not appear to be 210 mins and I knew that FP return use would drop off shortly after 10, thus allowing more standby riders. Worked out well. Worth the 97min wait...210 not so much.

Not that it's going to do most any good on this thread :duck:but once most have experienced the attraction (ala Frozen), the wait times will drop & FP will become easier to grab.

Good luck to those chasing them:wizard:

I am officially confused our park day is February 7th but we check in on the 6th so is our 60 day window bassed on the 6 or the 7th

My agent had no luck booking a FP for me for FOP at the 60-day window, either, so I'm just going to have to suck it up and get in line at rope drop. :(
My agent also had a rough time, we check in on the 7th, we weren't lucky right away but were able to get something earlier so keep checking!

I don't agree with this but it's just my opinion. FOP is probably the best ride I have experienced at Disney World. And since Disney World does not have many thrill rides I don't see the wait times dropping like Frozen Ever After.

My FP selection day was today. We are going October 6-10. I logged on right at 7am and tried to get FoP on my third day. Nothing available. My family and I were lucky enough to ride opening weekend in May and I have been reading that the FP are really hard to get now. With no FP available my next option is to do EMH rope drop. Has anyone done this? Looking for some stories for how it has worked out and also any suggestions. Also doing another short trip in January. Thanks!

Keep watching - they may extend AK hours for October and then I would hope that means more FOP fast passes would open up! I hope you get one! I hope we get two! ;)
