We are traveling with DH on business to San Diego. We will arrive late in the pm on Thurs. 8/21. We will have Fri. Sat and Sun. (8/22-8/24) to do things. Thats only three full days!:scared1: How on earth can we get in what we want?!? :sad2: ( I tend to rant.) It is me31, DH32, DS 7, DD 4.5 and my sister 19(built in nanny!)
I was thinking must do Legoland, maybe one day at Sea World(?) and then one day at the beach and outlet mall. I have no idea, have never been. Anyway, tell me what I should not miss!

I think Sea World is a must. It will be crowded, but still fun. If you are staying in SD, it's also very close.

Legoland seems perfect for your kids ages. I think it far overpriced for what it is, but that's just me. I think the Aquarium will be open by then too. You would have to get Park Hoppers to see both parks. Legoand is in Carlsbad and I suggest NOT doing that on Friday for fear of traffic.

The Outlet Mall in Carlsbad is also nice, but your kids might get a tad bored. There are a few quarter rides and some fountains, but nothing that entertaining. They have a family friendly place to eat called Rubys that is fun. Great food and atmosphere. There is also a Rubys at the end of the Oceanside Pier, about 10 minutes north of Carlsbad. That is an okay beach. They have a big playground in the sand and lots of beach, as well as fire pits.

The beaches in Carlsbad are great. Free parking too! (one of the few places left). La Jolla has awesome beaches and you can see the seals and snorkel if it's clear enough.

Downtown SD is worth walking an afternoon. The mall there is good and the Harbor area is amazing. Sea Port Village is fun (free parking w/ validation) and free.

Any questions? I live here so ask away...

If you're gonna go to Legoland and Sea World, the SD Zoo might also be another option. It's close to SW and you can always go to Old Town for a quick visit or meal too.
