Hi All,
My wife will be attending a conference at WDW starting next Wednesday, so we are taking advantage of the reduced rates by adding a couple days post conference.
My son (12) and I will fly down on Thursday arriving at 12:30pm. We are staying at the GF and are planning for Thursday to be an afternoon at the resort for some pool time. We'll probably catch Wishes from the Poly Beach or GF docks.
Friday, my wife has meetings until noon, so DS and I are planning to hit MK early (I believe it it's AM EMH at MK) and hit as many of the major attractions as we can. I have FP for HM, BTMRR and Splash in the late morning.
Saturday, we plan a full day at AK (probably our favorite park) with early dinner ADR at Yak and Yeti.
Sunday Morning, we plan to hit HS early (again, I think it's AM EMH) and again hit the major attractions prior to leaving for the airport. We have FP for Star Tours and RnR.
My Major question is what to do Friday afternoon. My son is begging us to take him to a waterpark. It just so happens that the conference ticket package includes a water park pass. So, we're thinking of leaving the MK when my wife's conference is over (12:00pm) and heading to TL for the rest of the day. We currently have ADRs for the HoopDeDo show at 8:30 Friday night but we're considering changing it to some other ADR for two reasons. First, we were not able to get Level 1 seating and had to settle for level 2. Will this affect our enjoyment of the show (we've never been)? Also, I'm worried that we'll be pretty tired at this point for a 2 hour show. An alternative might be to head to Disney Springs for a quicker dinner and maybe watching the Star Wars fireworks from outside the park. Of course we'd have to figure out transportation issues as we will not have a car.
What do you think? We've been to Disney a few times but don't consider ourselves park commandos... My son is more interested in the more thrill-ish rides rather than characters etc. I realize it will be crowded, so our expectations will be set accordingly.
Cheers... and Best Regards,
Walter
