I am 4 points short on the grand villa I would like to rent, and that is with borrowing. Will they let you pay cash for the difference or no?

Unfortunately no. You can pay cash for one night, but not a portion of a night. Your best bet is to go over to the rent/trade board and see if anyone has a few points to rent. You never know, sometimes sombody has just a very few points they need to rent out. I hope so and good luck!

Actually, you'll need a transfer and both you and the other member will use up your once a year transfer ability on that transaction. If you are booking at 11 months out, the other member will need the same home resort as you.

If you do the transfer (as Deb & Bill suggested) you'll be able to rent just the four points you need. If you don't want to/can't do a transfer then you can still rent points...you'll just have to rent them for a full night's stay and have the other member book it for you.
