Short points for next stay

Hello,

We were planning on our first VGF stay in Feb of 2015. However, we will not be able to make it. We would have had 390 VGF points for our stay for any date after Feb 1st 2015 but only 260 points for the 2014 UY.

We are now looking at going in January and the 6 nights that we are looking at are 285 points. I know we can buy 24 one time use points but how could we get another point?

We are also looking at going in November but that will be 310 points.

In addition to the VGF points we also have 31 current UY BLT points and 260 BLT points that we can borrow.

We do not want a split stay.

Any suggestions?

If you don't want to do a split stay, your options are:

1) Buy more points
2) Rent points from another owner
3) Shorten the trip
4) Pay cash for the additional nights. (Note you have to book through DVC Member Services in order to guarantee you won't have to switch rooms when you move from the points stay to the cash stay.)

Or stay at a resort which doesn't cost as many points per night. VGF is the most expensive option available.

Even when you buy points you can't do so until 7 months out so your BLT points will be available to use at the same time as you can buy points from Disney. I would say plan to stay one less night if you want to go in January and if at 7 months you can add on another night be happy. (You won't be able to add it until 7 months from that particular night).
