Family ate at Narcoossee's for the first time last night and thought I'd post a quick review. We were on the regular dining plan so were charged two credits.

Filet and lobster tail - both daughter and I got this and both really enjoyed. The filets and lobster tail were both tasty. My mashed potatoes were a tad on the cold side but nothing that would ruin the meal.

Shrimp pasta - wife got this. I tried it and thought it was fine but nothing too amazing. For what its worth I had a better shrimp pasta a few weeks ago at an Italian restaurant in Stamford CT.

NY strip and lobster tail - son got this. Again, the lobster tail was good. The strip seemed to be a lower quality streak cut though and was pretty tough/grainy (cooked medium rare). Thought that was a bit disappointing.

Desserts - I had the cheese plate because not a huge fan of sweets. I thought a couple of the cheeses were fine and a couple not so good but I'm not a cheese aficionado so others might be better judges. It was a pretty large serving I thought. Wife had a lemon custard she liked and son had the chocolate bar/mousse, which he liked but was very rich. Instead of dessert daughter had a half serving of lobster bisque for an appetizer, which was also pretty good (on the dining plan you can get a half serving of the bisque or a half serving of a salad instead of a dessert).

Overall I'd probably give Narcoossee's a 7/10 on the dining plan. The service was good and the lobster/filet a decent deal even for two credits (and I thought those alone were a 9/10 probably). The NY strip though was disappointing and drags the score down some. I didn't find the bread service particularly good (Chefs de France is much better I thought) but my wife and kids liked it. Might give it a lower score if I'd paid the $400 out of pocket, especially in light of the NY strip my son had - for $75 I'd expect a very good steak and his was not.

That's not very encouraging seeing as this is a very expensive restaurant. I'd rather get a chicken waffle at Sleepy Hollow for $8.

It wasn't awful by any means but I expected better. My son ate 2/3 of his steak before I tried it and I didn't complain but if I'd paid out of pocket I would have sent it back. I think my main point is that the food was generally good for a Disney place but it isn't comparable to a restaurant in D.C. that costs $75 a person

we adored our meal at Narcoosee's last week. The ambiance, the flavor. I had filet and lobster tail. Dh had the ahi which was gorgeous and fragrant. DS had the pasta and it was pedestrian. But still, a great pick. It's on our must list now along with Jiko.

I agree that the filet and lobster were very good.
