Hey everyone,

Well, having just got back from the world 6 days ago, we now have the opportunity at the beginning of August to go away for 7 days (without the kids as they are being taken on holiday by the grandparents!). Having looked at every possible holiday destination, every one has flaws (hotel accommodation not that great, or weather too hot, or not enough entertainment, or security risks) and so WDW is the only one we can agree on :lmao:

So would you do two trips 7 weeks apart?!

We would be looking to concentrate on relaxing - no parks (for the first time ever), just good food and taking in the sights for a change!

So aside from the "are we crazy" question - whats the best way to book flights, accommodation and car hire for the cheapest price? Don't mind which airline, where we stay or where we travel from (within reason)!

Just a disclaimer - we probably won't be able to afford another trip for a while, and it's the only chance we will get to go away minus the kids until theyre grown up, so it seems too good a chance to miss!

I can't give you any advice on last minute trips, but I'd definitely do two trips seven weeks apart! How very exciting :)

We do it often, get back in August go again in Oct, our next trip is for 24 nights returning 12th August, possibly going again for 10 nights end of Oct.
We used to say we would relax more, it never happens:rotfl2:

August is a difficult month for prices, just search and search.

so you are asking if you are crazy to go back to Florida within 7 weeks to a bunch of people on the DIS boards:rotfl: Err no...you go for it.:) It sounds like a wonderful idea..no kids as well..sounds pretty perfect to me:thumbsup2

Personally I would just keep on looking every hour possible for any late offers and not be too bothered as to which airline/airport you go from. Not going to the parks really cuts down the cost as well..I suppose my only criterior if I was doing this would be for a good hotel if I was going to spend a bit of R and R on this holiday.

What fun to be in that position...good luck and hope the weather is perfect for you this time..:cheer2:

Oh no, no, no don't go :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Agree with Vanda did you seriously think any of us would tell you not to go !!

The only worry I would have is whether I could go to WDW and NOT go in the parks :confused3:confused3

We are lucky with that, we have Universal, IOA, SW & BG annual passes so we might give Disney a miss some trips but we have other parks to goto.
To get a Disney fix we do MNSSHP if its Oct (or hope we get signed in by CM friend:rotfl:)

I just know that even if I said that we wouldn't go into WDW parks we would def end up in them...I just could not bare to be so close and not see the Castle and the fireworks from Main Street..:)

^^^^^^ What she said! :rotfl:

You always get one! :rotfl2::lmao:

I think I would struggle with this too. We hit those parks from the first day our tickets are valid and use every single day of our park entry privileges. But maybe you could look at getting a 3 day MYW base ticket, add no expiration to them, at least visit for one or two days and next time you go you can upgrade them to 10 day tickets. That's the sort of thing I would do.

And yes, I would also go after 7 weeks. In fact if it were practical I'd leave from the office every Friday and arrive back at the office straight from MK Sunday night EMH! :lmao:
