Okay our add-on came through today ( with a bonus of 2006 pts). DH suggested a long weekend in May with the 2 kids (6 and 22 mths).

OKW and SSR both have studios available. Don't know much about either since we only ever stay at BWV. Tell me some hi/lows about each please. Also, since both are big, how do you get around to the bus stop, pools, restaurant ...

Which has better bus service to the parks?

We stayed at SSR in mid Dec and LOVED it!!!! Although it is a very big resort, we were located in Congress Park where we had a bus stop right outside our door :woohoo: , along with a quiet pool and hot tub :thumbsup2 and the trail to DTD:banana: . All this was within 30 feet or so of our studio with the exception of DTW which was about a 5 min walk. We are a family of 4 and had no problems with the space in the studio. The buses started each morning around 8:30 and we spent no more than 10 minutes for any bus at any given time during the day and they seemed to come by every 30 mins or so. As far as the restaurants, we ate our meals while out in the parks or over at DTD. There was a little playground near our building for the children and a night towards the end of our trip I did laundry in their laundry room out by the pool (and I must say it was the best.....it didn't cost anything :thumbsup2 ) We are definitely planning another stay at SSR, even if it's just a relaxing trip with no park hopping. :cool1:

We Loved SSR and really didn't care for OKW(WAY TO BIG) plus SSR is new. OKW was looking a little old to us. I would without a doubt go for SSR. But that is just us.

Be prepared for two real queen sized beds in an OKW studio. And the largest studio bathroom available. A real perk with two little kids. All the bus stops are convenient as are the quiet pools. You can hop any bus to get over to the Hospitality House (or walk or ride a bike if you have one). Then you can either take the internal bus (usually the DTD bus) that stop both first and last and the HH or walk over to Peninsular Road bus stop to get a bus back to your villa.

If you have a car, you'll park right outside your villa at OKW.

We LOVE SSR and you will, too. For the kids, the pool is wonderful with an interactive play area. If you request The Springs, you will be located directly across from the main pool, food court, Turf Club restaurant, community hall, etc. DH and I went last April and had no problem with the buses. I stayed at OKW a few times years ago so I can't really speak to how it is now. I remember it being a great resort, but with SSR being newer with more amenities, I would go for SSR.
Enjoy, no matter where you stay! :smickey:
p.s. Where did you do your add-on that you got the 2006 points, too? How many extra points did you buy? I was thinking of adding on and getting those 2006 points is definitely an extra perk!

We just added onto our home resort BWV for 50 pts.

We are booked at SSR and I requested to be near the main pool. Do you think I should be specific and say the Springs bldg.?

I don't think it would hurt to be specific and say The Springs. I found the more specific the better. Less room for error. :) We are requesting that area when we go down next April because our son will be just about a year and a half and the other family traveling with us will have a 4-year-old and 7-year-old. It is a great area to stay! :cool1:

Thanks for the info on the add-on. I am really tempted to add at least another 25 points.
