Anyhow....my daughter and I enjoyed a wonderful Disney vacation from 2/25 - 3/4. It was a nice escape from the neverending winter. We stayed at POR and were lucky enough to have the free DDP. I had made all of our ADRs in October but ended up switching things around quite a bit during our trip. Here is a rundown of where we ate and what we thought of it. If anyone can tell me how to easily post pics from my phone I would be more than happy to show you the food!
2/25 Arrival day - we headed right to Epcot so my Beatles obsessed 11 year old could check out the UK pavilion.
Lunch: La Cantina de San Angel - I really wanted to try the cheese empanadas but they were not at all what I was expecting. Tasted more like they were filled with mozzarella than anything Mexican. They were served with plain tortilla chips. Very blah and disappointing. My daughter had the nachos. She liked them and I have to say they certainly had more flavor than my meal. We both had the churritos for dessert and I was disappointed with them as well. They are very small and skinny, not crispy/chewy at all. The churros they used to have were amazing. Also, the caramel sauce they are served with was very watery. So very disappointed with a place that used to be one of my very favorite CS restaurants.
Dinner: Rose & Crown - this was one of our favorite meals of the trip! I had the steak and fish that came with mashed potatoes (decent), Yorkshire pudding (meh), and green beans ( I ate them because I figured I should). Both the steak and fish were really really good. My daughter (did I mention that she is extremely picky?) had steak; we subbed in chips (French fries) in place of the usual sides. She declared that it was amazing and ate every morsel. She did that a lot on our trip....I think she was just really hungry from all of the walking. We both had the Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert and that was really yummy as well.
2/26 Magic Kingdom

Lunch: We had a fastpass for Be Our Guest lunch. I'm glad we tried it but I am in no hurry to go back. I had the steak sandwich and my daughter had the turkey sandwich. We asked for them to hold the sauce as I hate horseradish and Jillian (too much work to keep typing my daughter) is ultra picky. They brought us cups of regular mayo for our sandwiches. They were served with fries. Both sandwiches were ok but nothing outstanding. Jillian had the chocolate cream puff for dessert and I had the lemon meringue cupcake. The cupcake was good but not anything to write home about. Jillian said her cream puff was weird. Another slightly disappointing lunch.
Dinner: Crystal Palace. This one is a tradition! I can think of only 1 time that I have gone to WDW and skipped the Crystal Palace.....and I am talking about way back when when it was a buffeteria! This meal was very good. I can't honestly remember everything we ate but I do remember that we both really enjoyed the turkey and chicken nuggets! Jillian is too old and cool for characters and just blushed and shook her head when Eeyore came around. She managed to make herself scarce when she saw any of the others approaching.
Forgot to mention - I had my favorite WDW snack that afternoon - Pineapple Float at Aloha Isle, so refreshing and delicious!

2/27 Hollywood Studios, sort of..... I woke up feeling really sick on this day, probably from the extreme weather changes we had experienced in just a couple of days.We headed to the studios and walked right on Rock 'N Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror and then headed to our lunch reservation
Lunch: Sci-Fi Dine In. This is usually one of my favorites but not this time. It won't keep me from going back because it was probably just a combination of ordering the wrong thing and not feeling well. I had the All American Picnic Burger. This thing was gross! The hot dog on it tasted really cheap and although I love sauerkraut, it does not work on a burger. I finished my meal with the housemade candy bar which was really rich. Makes me feel queasy just thinking about this lunch. Jillian had the smoked turkey sandwich and a hot fudge sundae. She ate about 1/2 of the sandwich and then decided she didn't like it. She has never met a sundae that she doesn't like so at least that was enjoyed.
We originally had a dinner reservation at 50's Primetime but ended up cancelling it and going back to POR to sleep for a few hours. Felt a bit better when I woke up so we hopped on the ferry and headed to Downtown Disney to find some dinner.
Dinner:
We ended up at Planet Hollywood and were seated right away. This was a good meal. I had the steak and chicken fajitas which were fantastic. Both meats were very tender and flavorful. Dessert for me was Bananas Foster cheesecake. I am not a huge cheesecake fan because I tend to not enjoy things that are too rich but I am a sucker for any banana desserts. The sauce was delicious! Jillian had a turkey club sandwich (one of her favorite meals - this one was MUCH better than the one she had for lunch) and I really can't remember what she had for dessert, probably another sundae.
