Short cuts?

Can anyone help me? I was wondering if there is a short-cut or backroad way to get to Universal/IOA without taking major highways?? I will be staying at Windsor Palms in Kissimmee. Thanks!

Don't know where Windsor is exactly, but we traverse Turkey Lake Rd. 'tween Sea World & Uni. often when we're down.
It runs parallel to that evil I-4.
Lotta good pitstops around the Sand Lake Rd. intersection too, without touching just-as-evil Intl. Dr.).

It is right off CR-545 and Sand Hill Road??? (Sorry first time staying here!) If this is near where you are talking about....could you give me exact directions? I am a complete doofus when it comes to directions! Thanks!!

LOL! Oh gosh I hope that's right?? That's what my mapquest directions say!! It says I will be turning off W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy/US-192 E/W Vine St onto CR-545 S! Thank you for trying....I appreciate it!

CR-545 S is also called Old Lake Wilson Road if that helps any!

I too, take 535, then turn onto Palm Parkway (be careful, I got a speeding ticket today on the first half of Palm Py). Palm Parkway becomes Turkey Lake Road, and it's easy sailing from there.

So do I, Dark. I wonder how long it will be smooth sailing? I-4 is getting bad and International Drive is gridlock. By the way last Friday they running radar on Turkey Lake.

Here's something I do to see the roads. Goto maps.yahoo.com and type in this address
5800 universal blvd
orlando fl 32819
You're at the HRH
Now click West on the map and you'll see Turkey Lake Road.
Now follow it south by clicking the buttons on the edge of the map. The road will turn into Palm Pky, turn, and you'll hit the intersection of Vineland Road (535). Continue looking South and you'll see Hotel Plaza Road which leads to Disney. Keep going south and you'll see I-192 (530).
I think the confusion is that Vineland Road changes from being called 535 to 435 north of Palm Pky.
Try this. Type your hotel address into maps.yahoo.com and then follow I-192 (which is also called Vine St or W Space Coast Pky or 530) east until you reach 535 (Vineland Road). Then go north until you reach Palm Pky. Make a right and from there you can follow it north to USF as it turns into Turkey Lake Road.

OK!! LOL!!! I'm taking it from your posts....that there are no back road ways to Universal?? Maybe if there is someone on here from the area....they might know a way??

There really aren't any back roads. I just try to avoid I-4 at all costs and take it only when needed.
