Dates: April 20-22
Hotel: Caribbean Beach
Cast of Characters:
Me: 33 year old, loves all things Disney- have been going to Disney since 1971!
BF: 34 year old, hasn't been to Disney since 1974!
I wanted to plan a trip to Disney to try and convince my boyfriend that it is the greatest place in the world. Hopefully, I would also be able to convince him it would be the perfect place for a honeymoon!
We live only 40 miles from Disney so people sometimes think it's strange that we would stay on-site. (I have taken these trips before with my nieces- before I met my boyfriend). But, with the hotel rates so low I decided we would just stay there. It helps with the whole Disney "feel". And it's nice not to have to drive back after a long day at the parks. Also if we leave from home we tend to find other things that we "should" be doing- like lawn work, cleaning... Then we end up either getting a very late start or not going at all.
We checked in on Saturday about noon. The wait was about 10 minutes. The only request I had was non-smoking and not a parking lot view. We were put in Aruba room 5553. I was a fine location. If we were staying any longer the walk to the food court would have gotten old.
We spent the weekend in EPCOT. Crowds weren't bad. The weather didn't seem too warm to us- highs in the low 90's. The busses were running quite well. The longest wait we had was about 10 minutes. The busses were full and we did have to stand for one of our trips back from EPCOT after illuminations. The hotel was very nice. I have only stayed at the All- Stars prior to this trip. We did drive over to the All-Stars and my BF said they would be fine to stay at also. I think our next trip we'll try ASSp. Of course it depends on the rates.
I must say this trip was exactly what I had hoped for. We took things at a leisurely pace (no cammando touring). We did the ice cream social at EPCOT. My BF's favorite character is Donald so we had breakfast Monday at Breakfastosaurus with Donald. We had an autograph book and took lots of pictures. Some of the people around us thought it was funny (cute?) that two adults were getting autographs- but what the heck we were having fun. I convinced him enough about Disney that he now has an annual pass. He also admitted that it would be a great place for a honeymoon. We saw some people with the bride and groom mouse ears on and my BF asked if we could wear those on our honeymoon!
Thanks to all those who helped me with the planning of this trip. We now have a new Disney lover among us!
