Shoreside Survival Kit

I got my kit in the mail today!!! I love that CD!!!!!!!!!!
Man...Disney knows when you are having withdrawal---I needed it badly!!!
Anyone else got theirs?

What is the Shoreside Survival Kit?

It is a little package that Disney Cruise Line sends out to you after you have cruised with them. We cruised June 12 on the Wonder. The packet contains a nice little letter thanking me for sailing with them to paradise and also contained our Castaway Club member cards and numbers, a CD that has the ships horn on it as well as several tropical tunes. A survey was also included that wanted to know if we were interested in coming back---well heck yeah---put that right back in the mail--haha!!! On a side note, our Leave a Legacy Tile came today as well---that was pretty cool---did it make me want to go back---I was ready the minute I stepped off the boat!!!

You were on the cruise right after ours....we got ours about 2 weeks ago. Have you played it on your computer yet? Awesome pictures....

Bethipooh4--I have it here at work---it would only play music---how did you get it to play the pictures...I guess I will it home and mess with it---i cant wait to see them--but boy sure did love the music!!!!! Am ready to go again--looking at June 2007 though---672 more days---

When you get home, pop it in your CD rom on your computer, and it will walk you through downloading it to your computer. I even have it set up as my screensaver. The pictures are awesome..don't want to spoil it for you.

Have sailed the "Magic" three times. This past cruise we had 4 cabins and still have never received Castaway Cay membership cards or anything related to having sailed with them....got my number over the phone! That said, since Disney doesn't cruise to Alaska my next trip is via Celebrity Cruises. (Which has nothing to do with Castaway Cay Club membership but thought I would throw it in.)

I know DVC members can go to Alaska via HAL cruise lines, maybe DCL will build a third ship for the west coast Mexico in the Winter Alaska in the summer. I went to Alaska for my honeymoon GREAT TRIP it is different from the Carribean but still very enjoyable. Alaska is becoming one of the more "kid friendly" destination

We never got membership cards either...lol I had to call to get our number for our second cruise..imagine my SHOCK when this arrived in the mail....

I am so glad you enjoyed them!!!
I have passed around the CD to all our friends who are cruising with us next summer. None of them have been on a Disney cruise....

Does the shoreside survival kit come only if you booked the 7-day cruise? Or do they do it for the 3- and 4-days as well?

We were on the 4 day Wonder cruise on June 12--so yes, they send them out on a 4 day also..It is really great too!!!!!

Again, like the CC membership cards....it is a hit or miss thing. I never received anything from the CC club, even after 13 DCL cruises....and I have never received any of the mailings....coconut, shorside survival, CD, etc.

My motto is don't expect it and you won't be let down...if you happen to get it, whoppee!!!

We were on the Magic in January and never received the Survival Kit. Even called about it. We did get CC cards for two of our four family members. Weird how Disney is so awesome on most things, but things like this fall through the cracks.
