Hi everyone

We are visiting Anaheim in November and would like to spend one day shopping, actually my wife would

We won't have a car so we will be using taxi's or shuttle buses for transport

Can you recommend a good mall or some good factory/discount shops. This is the last place we will be able to shop whilst we are in the US

nothing close enough to disney to walk to except for downtown disney which is really a neat place to shop. the stores around the parks are really not the greatest--i am a native and live in anaheim and i would not venture to any of them! the closest ones would be in fullerton and brea and that would be a LONG expensive taxi ride!

Tell her to go to "Tarjhhhaaaa's" (Target) on Harbor.:p

Seriously, go to Target! This is the best store ever! They have everything you could want at really good prices. Be sure to check the end caps of the displays for clearance items. Downtown Disney has more expensive, boutique type stores that you could shop as well.

What about "The Block" in Orange? Never been there but I understand it might be an outlet place? Maybe ilovemky could give a thumbs up or down on this place since he/she is local. It wouldn't be close enough to walk but its just 2 miles from DL.

The Block at Orange is more like a CityWalk or DTD than a typical mall. Fun to browse, good restaurants including Cafe Tutu Tango.

I'm trying to think of the name of that huge mall in Tustin. They even have an Ikea there.

tustin marketplace--south on 5, not sure of the exit--there is also Main Place in Santa Ana which is a nice mall, south on the 5 fwy, off at Main Street.

but definitely not walking distance

I enjoy the block at Orange -
There is also the Main Place Mall in Santa Ana -
Or why not go for the big dollars and head to South Coast Plaza -
that is a more uppity kind of mall -

There is always the Orange County Swap Meet which is on weekends only - That is always fun - Great stuff and great prices!

Hi -- I'm not a local but I love shopping in the U.S!! We just returned from Vegas 2 weeks ago, and San Diego and Anaheim in Sept 2002.

In Anaheim, we loved staying at the Hyatt Orange County, where kitty corner to this hotel is the Target (corner of Harbor and Chapman). This is also where we bought our bottled water, instead of paying the Disney prices. You can find just about anything in this store!

In San Diego, we love strolling Horton Plaza and the Carlsbad Company Stores.

In Vegas, I loved the factory outlet that's just a $12. cab ride from the Strip. My fave stores there were Skechers and Tommy Hilfiger. DH liked Nautica.

You're going to have so much fun -- wish I were going!

The Block is great place to shop. I'm not sure why someone would like Downtown Disney and then say they don't like The Block. They're very similar, although you'll see more locals at The Block.

If you can find a way to get there, you must visit Fashion Island in Newport Beach. A great mall with everything from pretzel vendors to Rolex stores. Beautiful too! :)
