Sorry if this isn't the right place to post this...I had it under the "Orlando Attractions" thread but not many people seem to go there!

We'll be staying at the Beach Club in early October for 5 nights. I would LOVE to venture outside of Disney for some upscale, non-Disney shopping, but not sure we'll have enough time. We're not driving and would not rent a car, so we'd need to take a cab or something else. Wondering how far the malls are from Disney...in particular Orlando Premium Outlets and Mall at Millenia.

Thanks!

Hi, we are also going to do some non-disney shopping during our trip in November. We will not be driving over there either. One day we will be doing a shopping tour which is a 9 hour bus tour and goes to World of Denim, Rebook - Lake buena Vista outlet mall, Millenia mall, and Waterford Lakes Mall. It is approximately $35/person for 9 1/2 hours including a meal voucher for lunch at Millenia Mall. You can find out all about it at www.gatortours.com
I think it's called Shop til you drop tour.

Another day we will be going to the Florida Mall for the whole day. I know you can take a taxi there, but since we have a toddler with us (and not carrying a carseat) we will pay a little more and use the Quicksilver car service. They said it would be about $70 roundrip from POR to the Florida Mall.

Hope this helps!

You can rent a car for one day much cheaper than paying transpotation usually. I wouldn't rule that out. It would give you the freedom to come and go from the malls and outlet malls at your own will and save you some money - not to mention time! I hate relying on others, or waiting around for someone, and always rent for excursions from Disney.

mall of Millenia is GREAT, and there is lots of great outlet mall shopping to do in Orlando!

Ditto on your thoughts for renting the car. I think that would be your best bet. You can try looking into it before booking our tour. The malls are large & you can go at your own pace with a rental car. If you are tired of one, you can leave & go to the other without having to wait for your ride. You can do the Fl Mall & Millinia Mall on the same day. We go to Orlando often & sometimes take an entire day just to shop. We can do all of them in one day (but I have teens not toddlers). If you are concerned about a car seat, can't you get them from the car rental agency's?

The Premium Outlets are just outside of Disney off SR 535. You can get there within 5 minutes from DTD. The Millenia Mall is out past Universal off Conroy Road. Milage wise I can't say, but it will take you about 20-25 minutes to get there from Disney with traffic at it's usual (crowded but not stopped). If you hit it when traffic is bad, it can take over 30 minutes. The Millenia Mall is closer to the Beltz Outlet Mall. Also about a 15 minute ride from there is the Fl Mall (off SandLake Rd). Hope this helps you... :paw:

Orlando premium Outlets is about a 10 minute drive from Disney Market Place,Florida Mall is about 20 mins from Lake Beuna Vista & although I never been to Millenia I think that it is around the top of I-Drive so about a 15 min drive.Between OPO & the F.Mall you won't really need to go to Belz as between them the cover most of the shops

Since you mentioned upscale shopping, I think Millenia is your best bet. It's a 50-50 split between standard mall stores (like Gap) and upscale shops that are a little harder to come by (Tiffany's, and others that I couldn't name because I can't afford to shop there).

It's fun to walk around and browse, though.
