DW was wondering if there are any good outlets near WDW? She wants to do her bit to help America out of the recession

Yep!!! You will need to have a car though! There are 2 outlets right near Disney. There is a Walmart , Target. Then over near Universal there is another Outlet and 2 malls. I am sure there is lots more, those are the ones I know of and have been too!

Orlando Premium Outlets is located across from WDW at the junction of I-4 & State Road 535. Short, inexpensive taxi ride from DTD for someone without a car.

Prime Outlets International is at the far north end of International Drive, very close to Universal Studios. This is located where the Belz Outlet World used to be. The only public transportation would be a Lynx city bus from the TTC or DTD to Sea World and then connect onto a northbound I-Ride Trolley.

Both are huge, outdoor style outlet malls and are very popular with tourists as well as us locals. Please thank your wife for helping us out. And please, buy a few things for yourself as well!
