Hi, we are from Australia and don't have GAP, Old Navy, Gymboree and other great brands. So our trips always have at least a couple of major shopping days.

Can anyone recommend a Mall within an easy drive of Disneyland that has all the major retailers and preferably Macy's or Nordstroms.

Last time we went to South Coast Plaza, but DH thinks it's a bit too upscale and wants something a bit more local.

Would appreciate any suggestions, especially something that is more suburban and less touristy. We are looking for value and basics, like the stuff you get at home, only we don't have those brands in Australia.

Cheers

I know the Block on Orange ( i think thats what its called ) was about 7min drive from the Tropicanna, and it had a Old Navy and Target,

Hope this helps

We're planning on visiting Mainplace Westfield also. Gymboree, Gap & Gap Kids, Eddie Bauer, Macy's, JCPEnney, Nordstrom and a host more. On Googlemaps it looks about 10-15 minute drive. I guess, in an American sense, like our own local Westfields!!! Good to see an Aussie company go international.

If my memory serves me correct (from my last visit way back in 1990), this is the centre where in the movie Kindergarton Cop there is a police/action/get the bad buy type scene at the beginning.

We went from Hojo's to mainplace last year. It was a quick journey. Hojo's has a "deal" with a car company, so we payed X number of dolalls and a driver in a black sedan picked us up at our hotel, dropped us off. We told him when we'd be done, so he came back and picked us up and took us back to the hotel. It was a good deal and the mall is decent.

Not sure how it is now, but when we went last year there were NO payphones and bathrooms are all in the department stores.

Typically in that type mall there is 1 central Bathroom usually in a corner where the mall offices are. Ask in the first shop near the offices. They will tell you where they are.

Since Cell Phones became all the rage and every second person has one, payphones have been disappearing.

We did ask and were told the only washrooms were in the department stores. And there were spots for payphones but they were ripped out of the walls. A clerk told us it was teenagers ripping them out and there was only one left in the whole mall and it was out of order :lmao:

I just checked out the website- it doesn't appear to have a Target. Am I missing something???

Thanks for the replies. I've been to Main Place before and I think that will work. I really like The Block for Old Navy and I just found out they now have a Torrid there so will definitely be visiting.

Can I ask is the Macy's at Main Place quite large? I can't remember. Am I better going a bit further for a bigger Macy's? I am really after the plus size Baby Phat range and the smaller stores don't have it.

Cheers
Angela
