Hi!
Heading to Orlando in August and planning to visit the MK. However, interested in visiting a store in the World Showcase in EPCOT. Does anyone know if they still offer the one-hour shopping pass?

From what I understand, you "purchase" it at Guest Relations and then if you are back within the hour, your money is refunded. I'm wondering if there is a Guest Relations near the Boardwalk Entrance to EPCOT. To hoof it to the World Showcase and back from EPCOT's main entrance within the hour might be cutting it close.

Thanks for any help you can give!!

Many, many moons ago, they used to allow a person into the park for a brief shopping trip at no charge. They would take an imprint of your credit card, and if you weren't back in an hour, you would be charged for a one day one park admission. Now that the merchandise property wide is so generic (:sad2: I miss the good stuff) it's not really as necessary to do this anymore, so they discontinued it.

Your next best option is to add the park hopper option to your ticket and just hop over to Epcot for your shopping.

Disney has in fact discontinued this offering... Shopping passes are no longer an option.

Bummer and Great Sadness! My sister got the coolest glass bead charm at I THINK Italy and I was hoping to grab me one of those. But, not worth an entire day's admission.

Thanks so much to everyone who answered.....you saved us a trip!!

Yep, it was Italy! :) We'll still have fun, though.

Sorry for the OP they don't do this but am glad in a way. On another board people were talking about getting these in Disneyland--going in riding rides---then going out within the hour. They would buy a small thing and hit one or two rides! Hope you can find the thing you wanted op!!:)

If Cindy knows exactly what she wants is there a chance she could call and arrange to have the item charged to her credit card and delivered to her resort? If not, perhaps Cindy could call guest services from home, charge it, and have it delivered home. :earsboy:

There's an Italian Glass Bead charm on Ebay right now shaped like a Minnie head. Only has two more hours to go. FWIW, I'm in no way connected to the auction...don't know the owner or anything else about it. I just got curious reading this thread and went to ebay and searched "Disney bead charms"

I think I recall something like this at Disneyland, however I've never been there so I don't know for sure. I may have read this or heard it from someone. Maybe some DL Disers can confirm.

While I agree that the merchandise at WDW is become more and more generic, I don't think that necessarily applies to WS. For sure you can get some of the same stuff that you can get elsewhere but much of the merchandise there is country specific. So, I don't think that's why they discontinued the shopping pass. I think they just realized that they were losing money on it.

I don't think that she could do that. Unless it's something availalbe through general merchandising. Maybe someone else could tell us for sure.

As it's been explained no it's no longer avaliable. It made sense in the past for some. But nowadays you can order almost anything from WDW merchandising that was found in the parks on the phone in case you forgot it. You can contact them with this info:

Telephone: 407-363-6200
Fax: 407-352-6369
Email: wdw.mail.order@disneyworld.com

OP or anyone else for that matter....... you can feel free to ask questions as many times as you like as far as I'm concerned. I always try to help anyway I can when I'm on the DIS. If the answer isn't making sense to you in ANY number of previous posts by all means ask again. That way we can keep trying to find the answer that makes sense for you.

Thats one great thing about this place. You can always find someone who is willing to try and help you find the information you are looking for no matter how silly the question might seem.

There are tons of threads opened every day with the same questions over and over again as well as posts in those threads asking questions in different manners. But becoming frustrated by people looking for information isn't really why I'm here.

These are your boards too. :wizard:

EXACTLY!

I think half the fun of the DISboards is discussing WHAT ONCE WAS.... From rides to music to shows to policies etc. By comparing a lot of these ideas we all get to see how Disney is growing and changing... for better or worse.
