Shopping Package to Resort Room

I've heard rumors that you can make a purchase at one of the many shops in the parks and have it shipped to your resort room. Is this true? Has anyone had any problems with it?

They will deliver any package to your resort and you pick it up in the gift shop. However, if you stay on the concierge level, they do put the package right in your room for you.

We do this all the time. Never had a problem with the packages being delivered to our room the next day. We always stay concierge so I think that is one of the perks. If you are not concierge than the packages go to the gift shop and you would have to pick them up. The only time you can't do this is the day before you leave as they require 24 hours for deliver to your resort.

on my last visit in 2005. I bought something small at MK, and it was NOT delivered to WL the next day. And then the next after we were leaving and it was still not there. The clerk in the WL store where the packages get delivered said she had a bunch of stuff come in but hadn't had time to sort through it. She went into the back and found my package as the Magical Express bus was parked outside waiting to take me to the airport. I had to run and jump on the bus at the last second, it was extremely stressful. I don't know if I will trust the delivery service again this time.

I used this service all the time on our last and previous visits. If you don't mind getting your package 24 hours later I'd say this is the way to go.
Why carry all those bags around if you don't have to?

In theory it works great but if you have kids and send their stuff back to the gift shop at the resort, they don't like it. I'd explained what would happen to them and they said they understood.

As soon as we got to the resort they wanted their toys. Sigh. DD was very upset and of course it took the full 24 hours for them to arrive at the gift shop.

It also doesn't work well when the person who is supposed to sort them doesn't have time to do it. That also happened to us. The store was so busy that the person who was supposed to sort through the packages had to work up front instead so we weren't able to pick up our items when we should have been able to. It took 3 times of going back and standing in line at the gift shop at ASMo in order to get our stuff.
Since I was the one dealing with it, I was extremely annoyed.

I really don't think we'll use the service again unless the item is really bulky. I'd rather carry things around the parks and/or put them in a locker than have to deal with the hassels of getting them from the gift shop the next day.

We've never had a problem, it works great!

Just did this last trip no problem at all was wonderful. I even had some things shipped home not a problem they were here in no time.
