DH and I are going down with my whole family again this Dec but this time I want to go shopping off site (we didn't leave the resort other then to go to Universal last year!) Can anyone recommend a good outlet mall or place to shop? We're only going to go for 1 day (shopping that is!) Would it be cheaper to take a cab/shuttle or rent a car for the day?!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Between the Prime Outlet, and Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores, which is the closest to the TTC (by Magic Kingdom) which has best prices and selection? One more thing, has anyone ever take a cab, if so, what price range am I looking at?
Thanks a bunch.

I don't know about taxi costs but I think there's a utility at the Mears website that you can use to estimate their cab fares.

Of the two outlets that you noted, LBVF is much closer to TTC than the Prime Outlet is. Prime Outlet, though, is much bigger and has a lot more stores to offer. I've found that sometimes (but not always) you can find better prices at LBVF Outlets for the same stores that area also at the bigger outlet shopping areas.
You didn't mention the Premium Outlet area on Vineland, but that's also a lot closer to TTC (and probably about the same distance as LBVF outlets) than are the Prime Outlets. A lot of the same outlet store can be found at each of these outlet areas but both Premium and Prime are much bigger and offer more companies' products than does LBVF.

LBV stores are much closer then Premium or Prime Outlets - but they hardly compare to each other.

Premium and Prime have a much larger ranger of stores and are both lovely complexes to walk around.

I just was at one of the Disney 'Outlet' stores (I think the one on Vineland) and I was unimpressed by the selection. To me it seemed like a wild goose chase. Merchandise that I found looked like last-years items.

Biggest selection of Disney merchandise is by far at Downtown Disney.

I found more discounted 'Disney' merchandise in the many, many gift shops on 192 and there is a Disney merchandise section at Publix, Walgreens and Walmart off of 192.

If you stay on property and exit via downtown , make a right at the t junction, pass under I4 and make a first left, Premium outlets is about 1/2 mile down the road on the RHS

If after passing under I4, you keep going straight on, LBV is on your left after about 3 miles. on the 535

We love em both

The Florida Mall is indoor and has an even larger range of stores than the other two put together, but this is generally a full price mall. However if you go in late August there are lots of sale bargains to be had. If you are looking for cameras, there is a branch of Ritz Camera in here and they are very helpfull and extremely professional

We've gone to the Orlando Premium Outlets twice this year. It's outdoors. Nice selection of stores. Love the Coach outlet! They have a new location and larger store now, down on the end where they are adding on. The Disney outlet is there too.
