Electronics are best bought in the US, not in the Caribbean. Many times merchandise meant for Euro markets are sold down there, which may be different that items made for US markets. You may have a hard time with the warranty if anything goes wrong. A friend of mine bought a digital camera in St. Maarten on their cruise & had this happen. It wasn't a bargain after all. You can find outstanding deals on camcorders just about everywhere now. Try Circuit City,
Best Buy, Costco, etc... I just got back from the 11/8 Western & I did not see any electonics stores in Grand Cayman, or Cozumel, but I wasn't looking either.
Cozumel is a great place for souveniers & most jewelry, but surprizingly Grand Cayman has better prices & selection on watches and designer jewelry like John Hardy, or David Yurman. Cozumel does not even have any Yurman dealers. Hardy was 15% cheaper in GC than Coz, but I think they probably much sell more there too.
Have fun shopping on your cruise! As Ann said, shop at
DCL recommended stores only! They will back you up if there's a problem! Arno, the DCL shopping Guru is great. Go to the shopping seminars he gives on board for great info.
