This may seem like a wierd question, but what can I expect to see in stores in February? Will there be a good selection of shorts, tshirts, tanks etc.?

Coming from Canada, we like to pack light and shop lots!! We had taken a trip to Palm Desert a few years ago and being that the temperature is waaaaayyy warmer than ours at that time of year we were expecting there to be summerish type things available and all we could find were winter parka's, pants and sweaters!!

Feb is kind of the phase out month for retail. You will find a mix of "winter" and spring. But in FL they don't sell actual winter clothes that you would see in say a Sport Check (no need for snow boots there) so I think you will find plenty of what you are looking for!

We waaaaay over packed for our trip last February! I was so worried about needing clothes for every type of weather that I packed multiples of everything. That WON'T be happening this year! :) Aside from the light jacket or sweatshirt that we will wear to the airport (darn cold in the middle of a February night in Regina!) we will just buy a bunny hug or jacket as we need them. Lots of sweat shirts in the stores and a few light-weight jackets to be had. T-shirts galore were in the stores.

Muddypaws, looks like we live pretty close together!! We definitely don't plan on packing a lot, but was wondering if there will be summer type clothes available to buy for our summer season up here. We do a lot of outlet store shopping(basically buy a whole new wardrobe) and don't want to be buying stuff for the wrong seaon that is upcoming.

BTW, I hear ya about the cold in the middle of the night in February here.....I remember leaving with a foot of snow on the ground and I ran from the van to the airport door with my flip flops on just to avoid wearing anything heavier!!

If you mean shopping in the parks, there was a bit of everything last February. I saw long sleeves and sweatshirts, but t-shirts and shorts and tank tops as well.:)

I was actually trying like anything to buy myself some clothes and not having a lot of luck. I dont know if it was just because I couldnt find anything that I liked or if there just wasnt a lot in the stores. We were at a few of the outlet malls around Disney and at the Florida Mall. I dont think I found anything at all at the outlets for either myself or the kids. The couple of things that I found at the mall were on sale, though, since it was the transitional period between winter and summer stock.

So I guess I really didnt answer your question. :confused3 Short answer - there will definitely be warm weather clothes in the stores, but maybe not a big of selection for anything regardless of the season.

We did see people in down filled jackets, hats and mittens in the parks. I think the day we saw most of them was the day that I complained that I needed a sweatshirt. ;)

We've gone twice in January. The first year it was sunny and hot. We wore tank tops and shorts and sundresses and put on a sweater for the evening. We were able to buy t-shirts, shorts, tank tops etc. no problem.

The next year it was freezing. Literally. It was all over the news.... it was a looong cold spell and the wind made it even worse. All of a sudden we saw more hoodies, mittens, scarves, toques, blankets etc.... in all the stores.

I'm trying to prepare myself for that possibility this year. And hoping for the best. Buy hey, we Canadians are a tough and hardy bunch. When it comes to February weather, anything above -25 Celcius is still practically a heat wave. :thumbsup2

Yes I can appreciate that, I'm from the Buffalo area. That 1st Feb I went was brutal I brought 1 pair of long pants and 1 sweater. Learned my lesson quick. Walking around in shorts when there's 20 degree windchill is baaaaaaad!! But hey I was in FL. in February I was gonna at least try to where my shorts! To add insult to injury Back home was having a record setting week also, mid 60's in Feb.!!!! Go figure! My first Feb. at Disney I get 20's at home it's 60's!!! Well anyhow last Feb was gorgeous Hoping we're on a roll!!! :goodvibes

Everyone think positive thoughts for next Feb!! Cross your fingers and toes, hold your breath, and jump up and down - for the next 6 months. That will work, won't it??

I hope this really works! Can I take any breaks? I'm having a hard time posting when I'm jumping....and besides I think I need to breathe! :)

Oh, breathing and jumping is easy! Just wait until you have to use the washroom....
