shopping from anaheim - updated with question on DLR tours :)

aussietravellers -- thank you for all of the info -- it sounds amazing and we are definitely going to do it, i think... or at least, i'll pretty much just have to talk carlo into doing it as i am sold!!

that was quite the front row seat that you had.. that's awesome :)

we're tossing up the AP pros/cons but i think that we'll end up with that too, so yay.

thank you again for all the wonderful info :)

We really enjoyed shopping at the Citadel, hubby bought so many Tommy Hilfiger (sp?) and Oakley shirts for a couple of bucks each. We were there for over half a day and it wasn't enough time and there are shuttles that take you there.

I'm going with my mum this year and we'll be doing the holiday tour too.

Oh and we went to a mall, I think it was called main place plaza and it was pretty yucky.

We went to Brea Mall last time (I think we went there 3 times LOL), good department stores and alot of specialty stores, not too far to go either :thumbsup2

...It is a tour we will do again as we loved it! (and I loved the mug). I booked direct with Disney. If we don't get an AP this time then I'll try to get the AAA discount with my RACQ card, I will check that they accept that when I book (if you have an RACQ card, you can get a discount on all DL tours) :thumbsup2

Am I hearing you right? DL will accept a RACQ card as equivalent to AAA for tour (& I assume other discounts)? Can anyone actually confirm that they've done this? Thanks

I have not done it as I have always had an AP when we have been to DL so get discounts that way, however they do offer AAA discounts at Disneyland. So I am not sure if you can use the RACQ card to get this discount. I know you can at Grayline tours out of Anaheim as the AAA symbol on the back of the RACQ (RACV, NRMA etc) means that it can usually be used as an AAA card.

Here is the info on what Disneyland offers AAA members :thumbsup2

We went to Citadel outlets last week. Amazing value, all summer clothes are sooo well priced, ***********/Roxy marked down twice, so original price for a tshirt was $20 (wow) - marked down to $12, then 50% off that = $6.

I wear an ahem, large bra size, and there is a Playtex and a Maidenform store. I usually wait until Myer has my usual bras on sale and pay about $40 if I'm lucky. $15 at Citadel, buy one get one half price. Bought lots!

I was a bit sceptical about so called bargains at outlet stores, but this place is huge and worth a trip. We got there at 10 am and left at 4pm. We did have a car, but there is also a shuttle that does hotel pickups.

SCP is also fantastic. Macys is great for makeup and perfume. My DD stocked up on MAC and I paid about 1/2 for my Clinique. We won't have to buy any here for about 2 years, lol. We went over with 4 suitcases and came home with 8. Checking in at the airport was a scene in itself, had to take some things out of overweight bags and try to cram it all into underweight ones. The lady at the baggage counter was great - very helpful, especially when I expressed shame at her seeing our dirty clothes that I had used to pad bottles of perfume. Quote - "Honey, aint nothing I've never seen in this job" - a great way to end our trip!

We were away for 4 weeks, had a ball with my family, but it's always nice to get back home. We only arrived home yesterday, so now on to the joy of unpacking and washing.
