Shopping for Digital cameras on cruise

We are going on the Eastern cruise soon, as was wondering if St. Thomas or St. Maarten were good places to buy a digital camera. Thanks.

I wouldn't do it. For one main reason - No U.S. warrantee.

Besides, I've heard the prices aren't that great anyway.

Read the reviews, find the camera you want, and then price shop on each of these sites to find your best deal.

There were several different electronic items that I had been looking at prior to going on the cruise. We checked them out in St. Thomas and St. Maarten.

Without exception the prices were higher that what you could get them for at Best Buy.

This included digital cameras, PDAs etc.

In some cases the prices they quoted us were above the suggested retail price for the item.

The lack of warrenties etc. is another reason to avoid them.

Buy your camera ahead of time, save money and have it to enjoy on the whole trip.
