Shopping for a new mixer

I love my Kitchen-Aid too! I got mine as a wedding present from my IL's. I loved to bake with my MIL when DH and I were dating because she had one. Ours is the low-end model, so I'm sure an upgrade will be in the future. Since we are in a small apartment, it doesn't sit out so I don't use it as much as I could. When we buy our house next year though, it will have it's own spot on the counter. :)

HOLY CRAP
those are great prices
I HAVE TO HAVE the RED one!
I just told DH that is what I wanted for Christmas (ofcourse he looked at me like I have three heads - usually I complain if I get an appliance for a holiday - lol)
Now I don't have coutertop space for one - but in the new house :teeth:
I went to one of those home decor party and my friend was laughing at me because I am designing my kitchen around having a red mixer - need to accesorize to coordinate the mixer ;)
Thanks whoever started this thread

I love my Kitchen Aid. My husband bought it for me 25 years ago and it's still going strong.

I can't even imagine how many dozens of cookies and batches of pasta dough it has mixed over the years. If mine dies, I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

I burned my last mixer up making whoopie pies- I think I might get one of those factory reconditioned ones. Thanks for the link!

Wow, it sounds like Kitchenaids are the way to go. I did see one this weekend, it was the "low end" of kitchen aid, it was $159.00. I knew if I asked the DIS I would get lots of opinions! Thanks.
That is a GREAT price for a Kitchenaid mixer! Jump on that deal!

I bougth my wife a Kitchen Aid mixer almost nine years ago. She LOVES it. Still runs great and she uses it about 8 - 10 times a year,

I have an old handmixer, that I bought over 25 years ago for around $5.00 bucks, it is a Hamilton Beach. I have to tell you that thing just keeps right on going! Anywho I to would like a new mixer after all these years.

QVC has Kitchen Aid on often, sometimes it is The Special Value of the Day, or they will offer easy pay, etc. I have also seen Kitchen Aid at Wal-Mart. You might want to also check Wal-Mart.com to see what they have. I find alot of times they have more than the stores!

I would go with Kitchen Aid. :goodvibes

Love my Kitchenaid Stand mixer - was a gift from my Inlaws for my bridal shower 6 years ago (a put it on the list but I doubt I would get it gift!) Was over the $100 limit but it is definitely worth it and love to use it for all those Christmas cookies!!! I also have the Kitchenaid hand mixer which is also a great appliance as well. Both are incredible powerful and can make anything from the simpliest mix to more complex recipes.

I have a Kitchenaid and love it. I only use it 3-4 times per year, but I really am still so glad that I have it. I got mine at Kohl's when they were having one of their bigger sales plus I had a 30% of coupon.

One warning: Do not, do not, do not buy the "cheapest" Kitchenaid you can find. Kitchenaid now makes a very low end mixer that is sometimes carried at K-Mart and other stores. Often you will see this one advertised for under $100. The wattage on it is way too low. It will probably work fine for cake batters, but that is it. Do not buy the lowest wattage mixer.

I love my KitchenAid! I use it pretty much daily for something or other. I love it! It sits out on the counter all the time, because it gets used so much. I have the Professional 6 model, in white.

My grandmother has a light pink one, and it's ancient...the thing still works just as well as mine does, though!
