Right - I am under strict instructions to factor some shopping time into our plans.

Is Saturday a really bad day to choose? I only ask because it seems everything else is busy on a Saturday and I am looking for something to fill a gap!

ps Which Malls would you visit - we don't plan on breaking the bank on high end designer stuff so perhaps the Mall at Millenia is out?

At the weekends the shops are packed - so we tend to stick to midweek for shopping.
We like Premium Outlets and Florida Mall. Belz has gone downhill a bit, but we still go - I think they still have some bargains.

Don't totally discount Mall at Millenia, it also has department stores which often have brilliant seasonal sales. I bought a lovely designer hand knitted cardigan from one in a presidents Day sale for under £10!! (reduced from the equivalent of £200)
Mind you in our family I am reknowned for never paying full price for anything!!

If you only want to do one mall I would recommend Premium Outlet. Are you a member of the AA? Becos if so get a AAA card from them and you get an additional discount booklet from guest relations. Alternatively there are booklets on the 192 shopping plazas which have the coupon as well.

Lake Buena Vista Outlet is a good one as is smaller and you can be in and out in a few hours - gap, old navy, couple of shoe outlets, lis claibourne etc. You could shop at LBV in the morning and visit a water park in the afternoon? Although scrap that idea as water parks will be packed with teenagers at the weekend.

We have also found excellent bargains at millenia mall, but you are going to be there a LONG time!

I have 2 teenage daughters and if there isn't shopping time written in there are mass revolts:( - not as though that is anything new though is it?

We like Premium Outlet Mall and Florida Mall. Even DH, who hates shopping in UK, likes shopping in both those places.

Florida Mall is the best overall by far.... Mall At Millenia is still worth a visit - the only Mall in the area that has Bloomingdale's and Macy's , it also has an excellent Quiksilver surf shop...must admit though some of the stores at MAM are a bit too upmarket for us tourists, one or two of them look like they never get any custom with sales assistants just waiting to pounce.

Premium Outlets is a bit hit and miss, think most discount stores are really sometimes you come away with a few bargains others you see nothing.

Belz, never really rated it so we tend not to go.

can you tell me where the florida mall is:D we have only been to the belz(i wasn't impressed with that either)and the premium outlet also is it easy to get to as we are not hiring a car while we are there(dh drives for a living and wants a break)have you been to lake buena vista mall??
thnaks eve:D

The Florida Mall is on Orange Blossom Trail about 5 miles from the Sand Lake Road junction on I-drive.
Basically the route most people would take from I-drive to the Airport.

Do you mean 'Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores'?
Guess this is a poorer version of the Premium Outlets, mostly US labels we won't really have heard of, there is a GAP store there though. Wouldn't really recommend it.

hi johnny:wave:
sorry,i did mean the lake buena vista factory stores:D
is the florida mall easy to get to if you are not hiring a car, sorry for so many questions:D

Hi Eve,

I am sure that there must be frequent transportation to the Mall.
However, to be honest we have always had a car so I have never used it.

I am sure your hotel would be able to advise you.

We usually make a trip to the Premium Outlets and Lake Beuna Vista Factory stores, have found them good.:D My favourite is the Florida Mall tho :Pinkbounc

Why not try the Altamonte mall, certainly as good as those being mentioned ( and way better than Belz which is really poor now )..and it's much more American than some.

If you are not fussed by a ''designer'' label why not give Wal-mart, K-mart or Target a visit. They carry all sorts of clothing at very reasonable prices. I buy all my polo shirts from Wal-mart (they sell George just like Asda). Very good quality and they have outlasted some of the so called designer ones that cost twice as much.

Otherwise Premium Outlet gets my vote.

Apart from the shopping they have a very good food court (try the Chinese)

The Premium outlets is definitely one of the better places, when I first when over in 1998 Belz was really good but now it doesn't seem to be as good, last time I walked round got what I wanted and was not inspired to spend spend spend :)

I have to agree the chinese in food court is VERY nice as well!
