As a matter of fact, there is no way where I put my cart that it could have cause damage, that is unless the laws of gravity have been somehow changed since I went to school (yep, it's been awhile...). And yes, I was taught about respecting the belongings of others...

Like I mentioned, there were LOTS of other carts in the upper level where we were parked, so it was not going to cause the workers to make a special trip. As a matter of fact, there were enough carts that they would have to bring one of the special cart pushers (I know there much be a name for them, but you have probably seen the big things that some of the stores have to help the worker bring the carts in from the parking lot).

When my DH was going to put our cart with others, he was first going to put it with several carts, but it would have been up a slight incline and I pointed to some other carts, which were leaning against a curb and there was nowhere for those carts to go. And that part of the parking lot is not busy (and now I know why since there is no cart corral :rotfl: ).

BTW, this is only the second time I've parked in this part of the Sam's parking lot and the first time we were not buying anything, just stopping by to see if they had a certain product, which is why we didn't know that they didn't have the corral up there. I'm a business member and usually go before regular store hours and can park close to the door so haven't been faced with this.

You would think that the store would put in a corral if there aren't enough. IE, in the Super Wal-Marts that people have described that only have 2 corrals. I don't get that. Sure, some people will return the cart no matter what, but they should try to make it was easy as reasonably possible so that the people who are "borderline returners" will return them.

just for the record I've already said that once you elaborated on the story it made sense...

Why on earth would anyone have the need to "nail" another MB memeber over their shopping cart etiquette. Freaky.

And one who puts their carts in the corral, was also taught the "right" way to behave, whether someone was watching or not, etc, etc. What people should realize is that it's not what is said, but how it's said. I was only relating the story because of all days for that to have happened, it so happened to be the day that I was telling my DH about this thread as we were walking into Sam's after grabbing a cart that someone had not returned to a corral (again, in a spot that was NOT far from a corral, and by the way in a spot where it could have rolled into a car. So we do a good deed and push a cart into the store before it does roll into a car, and later leave our cart with a dozen or so other carts, but are quizzed about why we didn't walk around the perimeter of the parking lot to return our cart. :rotfl2: While we were at it, we should have used their cart "getter" and collected ALL the carts in the upper parking area. :rotfl:

WOW,,, perhaps you could have swept the parking lot and washed the store windows as well...

Then we're cool. I thought that you were still questioning why we didn't walk the cart back to the store, but I guess I didn't read it right. Just seemed silly to do that since they had to retrieve all the other carts, anyway. Perhaps we would have done that if there weren't any other carts there. It's not as if we don't need the exercise. :teeth:

:rotfl2: Trust me, at this particular Sams I have thought that I should make myself more useful. Like I mentioned before, I usually go in during business hours, which means that there's usually a staff meeting going on. Fine, but that means that it like pulling teeth to get an employee to do a price check, etc. One poor lady ahead of me in line one day had to wait forever to get that price check (they finally just had her step aside so they could ring others up behind her in line). I felt so bad for her and almost went back and got it for her myself. Finally they just rang up whatever my item cost (packaged cheese) even though it cost less than hers since nobody would leave the meeting to get the correct price. We were all laughing it was so ridiculous. Laughing is really all a person can do sometimes, right? :lmao:

My 6yo thinks I'm the coolest thing ever--my 12 and 15yo's think I'm an idiot, my 18yo thinks I'm pretty stupid, but a few minutes ago she called me from college asking for advice, so I am starting to grow a few brain cells, in her opinion. So things change and we get smarter as the kids get older (I just wish that my 6yo could keep thinking I'm so cool  ).

good luck on that thought, odds are the 6yr old will follow the same pattern as the others..

actually I joke about my stepkids, but my 16year old stepson thinks I'm fairly cool, he hangs out with me voluntarily quite often, and we often trade cd's since we like the same music..
