I think we are going to do the Family day at Tiki Beach. From what I have read, there doesn't look like there is much shopping at Tiki Beach. After the return to port, are there shops that have souvenirs, etc? What about things like beer? TIA

I have never gone into them (except for the candy store), but there are a lot of shops right there at the port area where the tenders pick up/drop off, and even more a short walk away. Maybe someone else can elaborate.

The Blue Iguana store on the main road across from the docks offers all sorts of souvenirs. The first floor has all the kitchy stuff like mugs, magnets, postcards, etc. On the second floor, you will find t-shirts and other apparel. Sometimes there are sale racks here. Keep in mind that the prices are in cayman dollars and the US dollar price is usually 20-25% higher. Not sure about where to find beer. Maybe someone else can answer that question.

Thanks for the information. My kids wanted to get something that had Grand Cayman on it. Thanks.

The only caveat is that if it's Sunday, very few stores will be open, even at the Port. There were a few souvenir shops open, though. Same with the Rum/Rum cakes place.

In 2013, we did the Tiki Beach excursion, and when we returned to the Port, we did not have time to shop. They made us go to the tender boat right away, as it was the last one going back to the ship that day. I was very disappointed that we did not get to at least buy a t-shirt.

Wow. I will keep that in mind. Tshirt vs missing ship. I think the tshirt is gonna lose... :confused3

There's a Margaritaville there. And some shops near it. There's other stuff behind that, too.

You could also do Tiki Beach on your own. Don't have to go through Disney to do it.

This is the 1st time on a cruise and 1st time out of the country with the family. It may be silly, but I am concerned about doing things on our own. I am the type of person that needs to be familiar before I am comfortable. But, thanks for the suggestion.

tender landing is across the street for the main downtown area where all the shopping is. Everything from high end jewelry to t-shirts and ice cream cones is within a couple of blocks.

you can check out the area via GOOGLE earth ... here's a reference point .. the main tender landing is the top one ... others are only used on busy days

Cayman dollar is fixed to the US dollar: $10 US is $8 CI ..... or, she may look 20 but she's 16 CI ......

SO if buying food in US dollars and prices are in CI, just figure a 40% tip (20% currency conversion plus 20% tip)

If buying anything else in US$, add 20%

most prices will be posted in CI
