Shopping at Aldi

Has anyone tried their chicken breasts? They are on special next week for $1.99 lb and I was thinking of picking some up. I don't consider myself a meat snob but I hate my grocery stores chicken breasts they seem so stringy and I'm wondering if the ones at Aldi's are the same.

I would say we do 60% of our shopping at Aldi. That wasn't always the case, but over the years we have experimented with products and have come to trust Aldi. I used to not buy our produce and meat there, but once I gave it a try, we didn't go back.

In fact, I would say that some items are superior to ones found at other stores. For example, their cheese crackers are the closest to Cheezits I have found. All other store brand cheese crackers tasted horrible to me, but last year I think Aldi changed their manufacturer and now they taste identical to cheezits.

I go to Aldi's once in a while, mostly for milk and eggs. I like some of their store brand items. The only Aldi's around me is about 20 minutes away, and kind of out of the way so I don't go as much as I would like. After following this thread, I decided to stop there today and try some new things. this is a list of what I got for $60.20:

10 lbs. potatoes
3 lbs. gala apples
18 oz container pulled pork
4 bacon wrapped fillets
whole chicken
cheddar brats
1 lb. bacon
1 lb. frozen tilapia fillets
1/2 gallon 2% milk (they were out of gallons)
1 gallon skim milk
eggs
3 kiwi
bananas
grapes
celery
strawberries
can great northern beans
can kidney beans
can beef stew
grape-cranberry juice
32 oz chicken broth
1 yogurt cup
napkins
sugar wafer cookies
applesauce cups
Millville brand frosted mini wheats
hamburger buns

Seems like I got a lot of stuff for 60 bucks. I hope we like the meat products. I have had some of their stuff before but am trying a few new items.

I shop at Aldi's for a few things. Their produce is cheap but it seems you have to use it in a hurry otherwise it will turn bad

I know but I was thinking of stocking up for a cook out I'm having next weekend. I don't want to serve them to guests if they aren't good but I guess I can just buy some and try them first to see.

I've tried the chicken breasts and natural ground beef and both were very good. Their fish is not as good as my local grocer so I won't get that again. My Aldi favorites are their fig newtons and triscuit crackers - yum! They are just as good as the originals.
