Shopaholic Goes Disney.... A Pre-Trip Report (Updated 12/26)

i love ur report!

Wonderful! Thanks so much!:goodvibes

I am finally back to having some time where I can sit and catch up on your ptr. With the storm, getting back into the swing of things after being out of school for two weeks, repairs to the house, and Cooper (DS2) and I being sick, it has been a madhouse here.

I'll be reading over the next day or so to catch up from where I left after checking in post-Gustav.

Can't wait to see what you have been up to.

So glad you are back! Hope everything gets back to normal soon.

Soliel..love those boots.

You are a planner for sure..We are going to disney in 8 days...yes I am doing the single digit dance:banana: and I haven't even started to pick what I am bringing or wearing. One problem is that I have lost 11.5 pounds now in the last month and a half (well i guess its not really a problem:) ) and a lot of my capri's are a little large.. I have plenty of skirts and all but I am not sure how comfortable I will be in skirts.

Oh well...I guess I 'll look into it this weekend. Right now I am suffering with a horrible cold that must be gone before my trip. Send me some pixie dust that I will be better.

Love reading your pre trippie;)

Just found your trip report and I'm all caught up! Your title caught my attention as I love to shop especially Disney shopping!

Your baby girl is so cute! My baby girl is turning 12 this weekend!
Time goes by too fast! Enjoy every minute!

Can't wait for more!

99 days to go!

99 days and I’m nearly done with all of my shopping. What will I do until then?

So in my latest shopping adventures, I’ve been looking for a few pairs of jeans. (For my trip, of course.) Pre-marriage I was very into jeans of the $300 variety. Post-marriage, I’m lucky to get away with buying a pair of jeans from the American Eagle sales rack. DH is super-conservative in the clothes buying department and he can spot a pair of pricey jeans from a mile away. Darn! Needless to say, I am in need of a few good pairs of denim trousers.

A few lunch breaks ago, I found myself wandering into our local Hollister. A store that, just a few short years ago, I proudly worked at and fit into very well. Over the BLARING music I screamed to the snotty employee that I needed to try on a few pairs of jeans. I helped myself to a pair of flare leg and a pair of skinny jeans, headed to the dressing room and tried them on.

OH, MY WORD!!!!! :scared1: Those jeans are the epitome of low-rise. Take a look for yourself.

As I walked out of the dressing room, the snotty employee asked if everything worked okay. “They were just a little too low.” I told him. He looked at me as if I were from Jupiter.

Sorry, Mr. Hollister dude. I'm not so sure Mickey wants to see my butt crack. Thanks, though...... :confused3

My search continues……

Hello, I followed you over here from the snowbirds thread and I love your report so far. Let me just say you have a beautiful family and you have a great sense of style. As far as those jeans go they dont even look like the rise would be high enough for a 12 year old :scared1:! All I have to say is Im glad I have a little boy because I wont have to worry about low rise jeans and barely there tops as he gets older. (well at least I hope not :))

WOW!! Those are loooowww!! I second the fact I"m thrilled to be the Mom of three sons so won't have to worry about someone coming out of the dressing room in those jeans! :rotfl: But I will say, wish I still had the bod to fit into them!!! LOL!!

Double digits...woohoo!!! :yay:

:rotfl: Soleil, your story of what happened at the Hollister store has me cracking up:rotfl: I hope your search for a great pair of jeans will end in success. I'm still trying to convince my hubby I need some new clothes, but I have decided on my plan of attack. I'm going to lose some weight..seriously..going to drop some pounds and then have to buy new clothes to fit in, how can he argue with that LOL!!

You mentioned that you are from Shreveport right??? I also work with our youth group at our church and we go to summer and winter camp at Southland near there. Are you familar with that camp???

Thanks! I'm glad you like my title. :goodvibes Time is flying! I can't belive she's halfway through her 2nd year.

I don't think my DD9 could even fit into those jeans!

And frankly, I was more worried about the rise (or lack thereof) in the front than the back!
:cheer2:

Oh yes.... the front made me VERY nervous!

I am dreading the day I have to have clothing arguements with DD. I pray everyday that she has a heart for purity (and doesn't want to dress like a hoochie mama).

I liked the flare legged ones, but the skinnies were SO tight and SO low. Maybe I'll try the AE sales rack. BTW....I've never heard of that camp. Where is it?

Hey girl!! Yeah for you with your double digits!:cheer2: :cheer2: Those pants!!! YIKES!!! What really gets me is seeing these girls (women) wear this kind of stuff with a newborn baby with them---they haven't lost their baby bulge/weight and still want to wear low-rise!!! Man!! When is modesty gonna make a comeback? We really should start a revolution. I like Gap Jeans and when I drop my 5- 10 #s I am working on, I am headed to Buckle to get some goooood jeans!!!!

I have a confession to make......

I was wearing low-rise hoochie jeans when I was pregnant!!!! I threw up all nine months, so I really didn't gain weight. (Remember people.... I was suffering... I'm not bragging, here.) Anyhow, the low-rise fit me great because my belly could pop right over the top. And they went perfectly with my crop top with 'Baby Girl' air-brushed on it in hot pink. Oh yes, I was one foxy preggie.

(J/K - I wore really long, pregnant lady tops! My belly and butt crack were hidden.)

Your jeans shopping story is so funny! I love to shop but shopping for jeans is tough! I can't go in Hollister it is way too loud in there! I usually have great luck at the Gap for jeans. I think the Gap as far as tops, the quality as gone downhill badly. But I still like their jeans. They are low rise, which I like cuz I don't want jeans that reach my ribs! I'm reminded of the Saturday Night Live skit about "mom jeans". :rotfl2: However, they are not butt crack low! :rotfl2:

How is the disney shopping going for your little one going?

Oh, I still wear them low. No granny jeans for me, but you've got to draw the line somewhere.:cutie:

Well, Belle is not going this trip. Just DH and I. We haven't booked our next trip yet, but I'm think we will be taking her next September or early October. However, I am picking up a couple of Princess outfits while we are there in January so she can have them for that trip.

Ha Ha Ha!!!:rotfl2: I meant the girls with that loose baby fat!!! Ha!! Your tummy probably had a bit of shape to it!!!! You know what I mean!!!! Really, I wore my jeans with my first pregnancy til about 5 months, then I had to unbutton!!! I didn't show with him forever. Not #2!!! He of course was my biggest baby, but by the 3rd month I HAD to wear my mommy pants. Then dd(#3) I was nauseated the entire time with her. NEVER threw up once. I would be crying and praying to Jesus to let me puke and get relief. But alas, It didn't happen. Wow, that was long and gross. Sorry!!!

I'm still loving your PTR! You've inspired me to maybe make one myself. Those jeans are crazy indeed! You should try Old Navy jeans (ok, I'm a little biased since I work there). We have three different rises and our jeans actually appeared in Glamour a month or so ago. I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you have about our fabulous jeans! Keep up the great work on your PTR!!! I love it!

Thanks! I actually have a pair of Skinny Jeans from ON and they are my favorite!:goodvibes

:cheer2: YEAH!!!!! I HAVE CAUGHT UP!!!!:cheer2:

Can I just say that my DH is going to curse this ptr because I want to go shopping so badly right now just looking at the things you are finding for this trip? Everything so far looks fantastic!

Also my dear, the rise on the those jeans is incredibly low.

Dear Lord,
Thank you for graciously providing me with two boys.

Wait a minute. I have 2 boys who, even though they are 5 & 2, will be looking at girls wearing jeans like that one day.

Dear Lord,
Please help me. There is no hope.

AHHHHH!! I never thought of that!:scared1: Heheehee!!

Awww! You ladies and your tiny little preggo bellies! There was not way I was wearing any regular clothes during my pregnancy. My husband had a great nickname for me at the end. he called me Kool-Aide, because i looked like the Kool-Aide man. What can I say? I was carrying a near 10 pound baby. Sorry, I digress.

i love your shopping adventures, Soliel. keep it coming!
