Hello! I had an odd question that I'm hoping someone could answer.

Me and my sister are going on a solo trip together and we have been to Disney many times but this will be our first time just us sisters. We are super close and I wanted to purchase something from the Disney parks app and have delivered to our resort to celebrate our special sister only trip.

However we are only staying one night at AKL (we transfer to our timeshare after) and I read that you can't deliver to resorts within a certain amount of time before checkout. I think 36 hours? It's giving me the option now and it says it would be delivered the 10th and we check in the 11th.

My question is will they hold the package for a day? Or should I not bother with this service? I just really want to surprise her with matching Alex and ani bangles when we get there and the shop parks app allows my AP discount to be used!

If anyone familiar with this service can help I'd appreciate it!

I've used this many times. You can order up to 2 days prior to checkin for resort pickup. Your items will be held in the resort gift shop. They WILL hold them and you don't need to pick them up that day or the next day. Just bring your id and order number.

Awesome! Thank you so much! I'll place the order!

It worked for me this last trip! I really wanted something as a surprise (hard to do when my family is with me at all times), and so I purchased from the app and picked it up at the gift shop the night we arrived. I definitely recommend it. It was super easy. I'll be using it again for sure!

Sorry to revive this thread, but the posters here seem to be knowledgeable on this topic so I figured it was more effcient than starting a new thread.
Do you happen to know around what time you can start ordering with resort delivery? The app has a sale until November 5th and we are checking in on the 7th. When would the window for resort delivery open exactly: 3pm on the 5th or midnight on the 5th?

I'm going to say before midnight. I just checked my receipt. I ordered something at around 8 PM on July 21. We arrived on July 23. It's of course 2 hours earlier where I live, but that would still mean I'd ordered before midnight.

Not to discourage you, but I had a less than ideal experience with the app in October. There was a Halloween shirt DD wanted. The Emporium didn't have it, but I was able to order it our first night there (Thursday). Supposedly it would be ready to be picked up Saturday after 2 PM. It wasn't there at the resort gift shop at 2 or even at 8 PM when I checked back later. It was not available at 9 AM on Sunday, the day we were heading home. It wasn't available at 1 PM right before we left for the airport (which at this point came as no surprise). I was told they would ship it to my home at no charge. The CM in the gift shop took my phone number and email for someone to contact me to make arrangements for home delivery. On Monday morning I got an email that my order had been cancelled! I thought maybe the shirt was sold out. I got back on the app, and the shirt was in stock! I called to find out more about what had happened and to see if they could waive the delivery fee. All they would say was that sometimes orders are cancelled unexpectedly, and they were unable to upgrade my shipping due to this inconvenience. What?! I was rather annoyed. I explained what had happened to my DD and asked her if I should still order the shirt. Luckily she said no, she had just really wanted to wear it while we were there.

So Shop Disney Parks does not always work flawlessly. We've never had any problems with it until our experience with this shirt in October, but apparently they do reserve the right to cancel your order at any time. Personally, I will still use it, I will just not assume that just because I ordered something means I will get it. I guess I will think of it more as a way to request something.

Thanks for your feedback! I'm sorry to hear things didn't go as planned with your order. We live in Europe so I already ordered some things from the Disney Store/Shop Disney site using their offer to be delivered at our resort, but that resulted in a big mess with them last year so I'm trying to hedge my bets. I thought you couldn't do resort delivery with the app until you had arrived so I opted for the Disney Store order, despite the multiple $5 charges we'll get for their seemingly endless number of shipments. Plus, I'm not sure if the app will even let me pay with a European card when I'm at the resort. I'll check throughout the day on the 5th to see if it works and in the worst case we'll have to shop without a discount and simply give Disney less money!

We arrive tomorrow and I was hoping to use the app to order things to be delivered to the resort, however it won't let me choose the resort delivery option...:sad2:

Oh no... :worried: Are you using the most recent version? And Apple or Android?

I just downloaded it yesterday to my iPhone, so I am assuming it's the latest version.
Makes me wonder if maybe they are trying to prevent scenarios like what I experienced. Maybe if their system (which we know does not work flawlessly) isn't sure if an item is available, they won't let a person select resort delivery? Just a guess. I don't know, but my/ my DD's experience was less than positive.
