I have made numerous purchases at Shop Disney in the past years and I have to share that something is wrong this year with their shipping department,
If anyone is planning on making a purchase for the holidays or an upcoming trip, you will need to add extra time to receive the items. Their website says 7 - 9 business' day to receive your order, but it is taking much longer than that for some orders.

Placed two separate orders on November 22nd. 1st ordered arrived in the stated time (December 1st)

Placed a 2nd order on November 22nd, shipped December 4, scheduled to arrive December 12. If it arrives as scheduled, this will be 20 days from purchase.

Placed a 3rd order on November 26th, have received half of the order. Three items are still pending shipment. Once shipped items take 7 - 8 days to arrive. This too will be more than 20 days from purchase.

Have talked with Customer Services numerous times, asking can they expedite shipping once shipped. Answer is "no" they are not offering expedited shipping at this time (and if you go to their site, they are not offering expedited shipping at this time). Ask to cancel the order as it will not arrive in time for our WDW trip and the items were for the trip. Answer is "no", you can not cancel an order once 30 minutes have passed from placing order. The only solution from Customer Service is to wait for the order to arrive and then return the order. Which means a package will sit on our porch until our return.

Here is what they are telling customers as to why the delay "Our distribution centers are busier than normal. While we are unable to guarantee when you order will arrive, most orders should arrive in 7-9 business days. We are working diligently to get orders to our Guests. We apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience during this time"

Shoppers Beware.

I think there's something going on that goes beyond "busy". I placed an order and it was cancelled. Waited a week, it was available and now the order is "processing" It's been "processing" for 2 weeks. Very odd. I did a customer service chat, was told the same thing "it's busy"

Agree and I noticed there is nothing on their site this year that tells you the last day you can order for guaranteed Christmas delivery.

Its a good warning to share. But the reality is that we're spoiled by Amazon, yet while other major retailers have figured out how to be amazon'ish, Disney has not. Considering how well (or should I say poor) they do at ADRs and other online aspects then this shouldn't be a surprise at all. Disney is not the leader here, they are a distant follower and using systems, structures and IT from the 90s it seems.

There's some weird things going on with their shipping. I ordered a total of 6 items on 11/24. One item was marked shipped and arrived. The rest of the items show as in processing, but I've actually received three of them, and have yet to actually be charged for any of it.

Well… guess what! Checked today and my order was cancelled yet again. I checked my item, it’s listed as available, I’m giving it another shot. However, I did send a snarky email asking why, if an item is out of stock, they don’t remove the Item or say it’s out of stock. Infuriating

I'm a little peeved with Shop Disney. I placed an order the day after Thanksgiving (early in the morning) and just yesterday on December 7 was a large part of the order cancelled by them because of limited quantities and too high of demand. I think that should have been realized before the cancellation.

Now they are posting their Christmas Shipping Delivery, but I do not see a guarantee.
Order by the 16th of December to receive by the 22nd of December, that is even less than their 7 - 9 business' days which my current orders I am waiting for are far, far past that time.
Will they deliver as promised or just say that due to busier than normal, the order is delayed? I would not trust them if items are wanted by Christmas.

My order took 5 days to arrive.
I was out of town and hopping for longer :rotfl:
But it was on the doorstep when we got home.

This is BS as I have had this problem for years regardless of the month.

Anecdotal here, but I did most of my cyber shopping on December 4th. Disney had the 7-9 day notice as mentioned above, while a few of the other companies I was purchasing from had shorter notices of 3-5 days. In total, I ordered 9 items from 6 different companies that day. 2 Items from Amazon came first (obviously). Loungefly I ordered from Disney came on the 9th (5 days after purchase), I am still waiting on the other 6 items from 4 other companies. One shipped on the 8th (Stanley mug), with a 3-5 day notice and is scheduled to come on the 15th as of now. 2 items from Home Depot shipped on the 7th with a 3-5 day noticed are also scheduled to come on the 15th. Still waiting on the other 2 shipping labels to populate (1 is via etsy, so understandable based on their holiday shipping timeline) and the other is from a clothing store.

I am not so sure it is just a shop disney thing as much as a Holiday rush shipping issue, but again this was just my own personal experience recently.

Based on some of the other comments though, I definitely consider myself lucky to not have run into the cancellation issues or delays at other times when I've ordered things...fingers crossed on that one!

Update from my original post, they finally shipped the remaining items in my order placed November 26, USP schedule says it should arrive on December 21.
25 days after placing the order and if you just count business days (Mon - Fri), this would be 19 business day. No where close to their website stating that orders will be received in 7 - 9 business day.
Their policy of not been able to cancel an order after 30 minutes of being placed needs to be re evaluated and exceptions be made for orders that will not delivered in the promised time.
As this was matching family Mickey shirts for our trip and will arrive after we are gone, I now have to find a neighbor to pick up the package from the porch and then I will need to return the items once we are home and wait for a refund. >:(

I just checked my order is still "processing" What I don't get is this: if an item I order is indeed out of stock, why does the website allow the purchase to go through? There IT department is a mess. Other sites clearly list items as "out of stock" is it that hard?

I am in a similar situation we check into CCV on Saturday. I talked to my neighbor and ask them to get the package if it arrives on Saturday (estimated deliver day). My hope it comes in sooner since it is one of the limited Christmas presents we are taking. Already purchased an alternate gift from Amazon.

Yes, Amazon has set the standard e-commerce, deliver and mobile apps all of which Disney is lacking. I am shocked their streaming app actually works.

Returns are also taking awhile. I waited a month and no refund so I called and they processed half but waiting on the other.

I ordered a Lego set before Thanksgiving- and it has yet to ship. I was on hold for more than an hour yesterday and customer service told me they would be shipping it and I’ll receive it before Christmas. For the inconvenience, they gave me a free shipping code. I’ve been checking all day today and the Lego set still hasn’t shipped. Then today I got a different item in the mail from them and the item was damaged, so now I’m on hold again because the website doesn’t show that it’s been delivered (and therefore, I can’t ask for a refund on the website).

I’m also dealing with this right now. I ordered the cruise playset on 12/6 for my nephew for Christmas. He is going on a Disney cruise in February so I was super excited to gift him this playset.

My order is still processing. I chatted with customer service a few times, but got no where. I’m told their “warehouses are busy” and it’s a “busy time of the year.” The customer service person assured me it’ll arrive before Christmas and then also asked me if I wanted additional alternate gift ideas for my nephew… no thanks… I’d just like the item I spent $100 on and ordered 2 weeks ago to arrive.

Slightly different issue but I received a partial order but they charged me for the full order and the return receipt in the box said all the items were in the box. It took me weeks to get them to agree they didn’t ship all the items, by then they were sold out and they are still processing the return to my CC. This order was placed mid October and I’m still trying to get my refund processed.

It’s frustrating. The live chat cast member confirmed yesterday that I will not have the item for Christmas. They said they could not cancel my order and they also can’t refund it. But then they said I wasn’t charged and won’t be charged until it ships. My only issue right now is that I was charged; I used my Disney rewards redemption card and it was definitely charged.

They offered me a $20 one time use code to use on a future purchase to “make it right” but I declined because I won’t be purchasing from them again any time soon.

Totally agree here! Maybe we are spoiled by Amazon, but that is why the bulk of my shopping is at that retailer. If I have to wait 20 days for something, I might as well sew it myself 🤣
Also, anytime I have an issue with an Amazon order, a 5 minute chat and it is cleared up. Item broken? Immediate credit? Lost in transit? Immediate credit or immediate replacement. Had an order of canned drinks come and one was broken - credit for whole order. No begging or asking for a manager! :)
