Universal Shooting Suspect Arrested

Twenty-eight-year old Eric Audifre faces an attempted murder charge after an early morning shooting at the Universal Orlando Resort.

Investigators say Audifre got into an argument with 43-year old Norman Sierra as they both left the movie theater at Universal's CityWalk.

Investigators say it happened before 2:30 a.m., just after the clubs at Universal CityWalk® closed for the night.

Police say Audifre then grabbed a gun from his car in the parking garage and shot Sierra in the stomach.

Eyewitnesses gave police a vehicle description and they quickly tracked down the suspect.

Sgt. Barbara Jones from Orlando Police Department said, "When these things happen, sometimes it's chance that you're in the right place at the right time, but obviously at 2 o'clock in the morning, there's not a lot of vehicular traffic. You know you're not looking at thousands of cars. You're probably looking at a quarter of the amount that you would see during rush hour."

Audifre could face federal charges along with attempted murder.

Police say several people witnessed the shooting and their vehicle description helped them seize the suspect.

Lt Darryl Baunskill said, "We had an officer spot the vehicle as it was leaving Universal Studios complex and we were able to get the vehicle stopped and we have recovered a firearm from that vehicle."

Sierra was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center and is in critical condition.

that is so scarey I thought we were safe there seems nowhere is safe but if it was after HHN all kinds of people come from all over for that. also for the clubs at that time of night, but anytime you must be careful anywhere

It was not a shooting from HHN. The men were at the movies when the altercation started.
