Hi

On our last trip to Orlando (six years ago) we flew with Travel City Direct.

On the last day we dropped our cases at a really nice outlet type place near to the airport (I think).

I cannot remember the name of the place or excetly where it was, and wondered if one of you lovely people may be able to shed some light for me please.

It was a group of about 20 or so shops around a court yeard type things. Sorry to be vaugue but thats about all we can rememebr.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Chris

I assume when you say you dropped your bags you mean you checked them in for your flight home? And you flew with Virgin?

If so then that would have been Downtown Disney West Side (near the big white Cirque de Soleil tent if that rings any bells).

This is a service that lets you check in for your flight home in the morning (it's open 8:15am-1pm), leaving you free to do something for the day without having to lug all your cases around with you.

It used to be free for people who were on a Virgin Holidays package (not sure if still is, not been on one for years!) or you pay something like $10 per person if you're on a Virgin Atlantic flight unless you're flying Upper Class or are a Gold Club frequent flyer.

Hope that helps :)

Hi Disneymad

Thank you - but, that's not the one.

We we're definately flying with Travel City Direct, and it just a sort of stall where we dropped the luggae off, before checking in at the airport later (Sanford)

The place was like an open air shopping outlet thingy.

Any other ideas greatly appreciated.

Ta

Hmm ok, sorry about that then.

Travel City Direct are now a travel agent who are owned by Virgin Holidays but it does ring a bell that someone else owned them before so I guess that was still when it was with the previous owners.

Oooooh I can picture this place sooooo well, I remember it but can't remember exactly where! I don't remember it being close to the airport though, I'm sure it might have been Lake Buena Vista area or something like that!

We used it when travelling with TCD too! I have just text my husband to ask him, I think he will probably know the answer.....

EDIT: He said he is pretty sure it was on the 536 heading out of Lake Buena Vista. He said it was an outdoor shopping court thing and all he can remember shop wise is an Old Navy he thinks! :)

Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores? I think that's what it might have been called! Been racking my brain trying to remember this :rotfl:

Thank you Lisa - have a banana

It is the Buena Vista Factory Stores - just checked the website and that is the place. I can remember setting off from there and turning onto the wrong side of the dual carriage way! :rotfl2:

It has, amongst others, the Fossil shop that I bought a watch from and need to replace.

I think we will be having a return visit on our next hol.

Thank you all for your help - as ever you are the best Disney Geeks around.

:hippie:

 no problem!

It's not looking its best anymore, the other two Premium outlets are far better then LBV Factory Outlets. Having said that we always pop in there for a quick bit of shopping because its never very crowded and it is the only one with an Old Navy outlet.:)

We popped to one of the outlet malls at the top of I-Drive last time we were there - i'm ashamed to say we spent far too much money in the 'As Seen on TV' shop.. but to be fair, i do still have my memory foam slippers and DW has her fluffy body pillow... and this was 4 years ago!

ooh..Memory foam slippers, I like the sound of them:laughing: I love that shop, can spend ages in there looking at things that I never knew that I needed!:rotfl:
