Here is a planned break down for our Shoestring getaway

My wife and I are going to take our two children for a three day trip to DW for June 17th, 18th and 19th.

This is somewhat spur of the moment for us since we have a five day trip planned in October, staying at the POP.

Anyhow, what we are thinking about is staying at the Motel Six on Irlo Bronson (we have stayed here before, small, but we only need a place to sleep and CHEAP), we will arrive on June 17th and probably just go to DTD and hang out, Try not to spend much money,

The 18th we will do something we have Never done before, Blizzard Beach. Pretty much plan on doing this all day. We will eat at the BB for lunch, but bfast and dinner will be outside the Disney Bubble

The 19th will be a one day MYW for the family to go to the MK. We will be very hardcore on the 19th, getting there when the park opens and leaving when the cast memebers ask us to leave :) (ok not really, but we will be there till after Wishes for sure!)

Here is my planned Budget

Day one

$29.00 for the hotel
$60.00 for food for the day (outside the park)
fun= hanging at DTD and hitting the pool at the hotel (not Disney resort:lmao:) total cost is $0.00

Total cost is approx 100$ by the time tax is added.

Day Two

Room- $29.99
Food- $100.00 (quick service and outside the park)
Blizzard Beach Tickets for 2 adults and 2 children under 10 - $200.00

Total for day 2 is about $350.00

Day Three

Room- 29.99
Food- $100.00 (quick service only)
Tickets- 312.00 (I am calling this 350 with tax)
total 441.99

Total budget is 891.99

Plus my Gas budget is $200.00

so, the total for the trip is going to be

$1100.00

I think we will save some $ on food by buy some things at Wal-Mart to eat breakfast in the room (breakfast bars or cereal, etc) and have snacks in the room.

but overall, $1100.00 isn't too bad for a 3 day spur of the moment Disney trip.

we will have a small budget to give the Kids so they can buy souvenirs and stuff.

Am I overlooking anything?

has anybody here done anything similar to this before?

We are hardcore Disney buffs and normally stay at either the POP or the WL with the full DD package, park hopper, etc. So this is somewhat of an adventure doing this on a shoestring.

Thanks!

While it might hurt your budget for this trip, have you considered buying an Annual Pass which could help your budget for the next one? You get a discount on the water park tickets, and you get free parking at the parks with an annual pass (important if you're staying off site and renting a car). You also get merchandise discounts and can buy the Tables in Wonderland card which for a family of 4 will likely save you some money. When AP rates come out for October, you could possibly get a room discount which will then allow you to buy the dining plan without purchasing any tickets.

Just a thought.
