Ok so I have been to Disney World many many times and I know the best shoes are comfortable ones that are well broke in... That being said my feet always still seem to ache... This time when I go I will be pregnant still in my first trimester and want really good shoes...... What do you recommend?

It is hard to give you advice when I do not know what feet issues you have. Are your feet wide or narrow? Hi arches or low?

Go to a good shoe store and get properly fitted. Buy a good pair of shoes, which addresses your specific foot construction, and wear it with the right sock (in my case I wear two pairs, an inner wicking sock and an over sock made of primarily wool).

I was 8 weeks pregnant when we went in October - I brought my broken in tennis shoes and two pairs of broken in Tevas (flip flops). I actually didn't need to use my tennis shoes at all - I loved the Tevas and wore them every time we went out!

I have a lot of foot issues (and leg, back and shoulder issues when I walk around a lot). I "trained" myself to walk barefoot. 9 days at WDW at 12-15 miles per day (based on my pedometer) and I had zero pain in my feet, legs and back. That is the first time EVER. I was so excited!

I bought the merrells with the vibram soles since I am partial to vibram, but I suspect any high quality barefoot shoe would work well. I didnt even break them in before the trip since technically there is nothing to break in! :rotfl2:

I will be about 12 weeks when we go. The only shoes that work for me are Teva Mush, the original. They support my high arches and I could live in them for miles and miles. I am a runner and have knee issues and itb issues and these are the best for me.

In my little town we dont have a shoe store that I can go to for a proper fitting. I tried on many many pairs of shoes before I went last time and none of them seemed to feel right, Im picky about my feet

The first time I saw "toe shoes", I was standing in line for the safari at Animal Kingdom. I laughed. Then I saw them all the time.

I wanted something comfortable and light weight to run in and tried a pair. Now, others are probably laughing at me when they see me in them. :rotfl2:

I only wear vibrams or Merrills with vibram soles with toe socks!
I have a weird foot issue in one foot that makes me very sensitive to my 2 little toes being squished together in tennis shoes. Note that I can wear pretty much any other shoe with no problems! Vibrams rock!!!

I am so NOT going to recommend going without shoes...

I'd recommend crocs (mine are croc classics); at Disney I wear them with padded Thorlos blister-free socks AND padded moleskin on the balls of my feet; moleskin would probably work fine with a pregnancy but if you have issues with swelling I'm not sure the socks would be a great idea. Swelling was never a big deal with my pregnancies even in my third trimester, so I'm not sure how all that works, but some blister-free socks are snugger than regular socks and I assume that might be an issue.

Wearing crocs is a lot like standing on one of those pads they make for kitchens or for people who're on their feet all day, but I'd wear some kind of "keeps your feet dry/blister free" sock with them. I never had a problem with sweaty feet in my pregnancy days, but Florida heat and plastic shoes are not an ideal combination, IMHO. Really, crocs or not, in the parks wearing the right socks can make a big difference. Happily, finding the right socks is a much cheaper process than finding the right shoes!

If you can take a break in the middle of the day and put your feet up, they'd appreciate it. At the MK or Epcot or HS, you can drag someone to one of the local hotels, get a snack, and then lie down on a couch talking with them for a bit -- just lying down with your feet on the same level as the rest of you for fifteen minutes can help, in my experience. :)

I just returned from a week a Disney and wore my Merrel Cambrian Emme sandals the entire time. And I'm 5 1/2 months pregnant. This is the second trip for these shoes and I love them. I'm a firm believer in the Vibram soles- no sore feet, legs or back. They cover my toes, but have mesh to keep things cool and the back strap has a small cushion to prevent rubbing. If they get wet, they dry quickly. The straps make them completely adjustable in case your feet start to swell or you want to wear socks with them. These are by far the comfiest shoes I have ever owned and I wear them year-round (just add socks when it gets cold).
