Help please !!

It can totally vary in December and January. I have been there when the high was 48 and the high had been 89 also. Crocs/Mary Janes would be a good choice because you can always put on a pair of sock with them if it is really cold and switch socks easy if it rains. Packing for this season is a pain because you need everything from a swimsuit to a jacket, but it is a great time to go. I packed a few capri's, shorts, and a 2 pair of jeans for my girls this past January and did fine. I did do laundry once while there. I got some really cute tinkerbell hooded sweat shirts and they wore them in the a.m., had t-shirts on underneath, and they just tied the sweatshirts around their waist during the day. Check out a good weather site like accuweather.com that give 15 day forecasts and try to pack off of that closer to the time of the trip. Just be sure to recheck a few days before you go as it can change greatly. Ponchos are great for the rain. Dollar stores, Walmarts etc have them. We got realy cute princess ones at walmart and they are folded up the size of a wallet and easy to pack. We did need a coat one December. It got suddenly cold on us and I was wearing flip-flops, capris and a big sweatshirt. Not so stylish and my feet were freezing. Unfortunately it is very unpredictable. We just started planning our next vacation, which will be to Canada!

Thanks
And if vacationning in canada also ( except summer ) also bring sweatshirts & capri's .
I guess I'll bring a bit of everything;)

I've worn all types of shoes. Watch the weather in the morning because one day I didn't know it was going to be hot. I had tennis shoes with socks and I was wearing pants. I got so hot that I felt faint (I think it got to high 80's that day) and I had to buy some flip flops and sit on a bench with a cold drink for about 20 minutes. I couldn't believe it!! The rest of the week I had to wear a sweater. You just never know. The nights are usually cold from my experience, though.

We went last December 15 - 25 and the weather was warm and almost downright hot the entire time. We took sweatshirts and put them in lockers at the parks thinking we would need them in the evenings. We ended up taking them out each night before leaving and never once needed to put them on. After a while, we stopped bringing them along and still never needed them. The mornings and evenings were warm enough for short sleeves. We never once felt even the slightest bit chilly! We had to do laundry in the middle of the week since we used up all of our t-shirts and had nothing clean but long sleeves!

OK, I understand that this was considered wacky weather for December. Some people have been when it was extremely cold and needed their woolies! This was just our experience last year. I still think it's good to pack for any kind of weather. We only had one downpour as we were leaving Animal Kindgom at closing time. I couldn't believe how quickly huge puddles were forming. We don't usually get rain like that in California!

We love to go for the holiday lights and lived in Jacksonville for 3 years. I can tell you to pack for anything! Weather wise this is the hardest season to pack for because it can be really cold or really hot. :confused3 We also took sweatshirts and at least one glove (for holding a frosty beverage:thumbsup2 ) after the sun goes down. We would rent a locker in the morning and stow our cool weather gear. If you park hop you only have to pay for one locker and when you change parks you can show your reciept and get another one. (if this has changed please feel free to jump in and correct me)
Just dont forget to take shorts and t-shirts. Its pretty awful when you get caught in a park and its 80+ degrees out.:goodvibes
I always carry a sweater, gloves, and warm scarf. That way even if the temp drops to 60 you wont be cold.
Remember to wear bright colors during December :santa: as all the parks are decorated to the nines. Your photos will turn out better if you are also brightly dressed!:thumbsup2

Have a great time!

Crocs now come with a Sherpa lining for winter. They also come in a "duck boot" style. I can't wait until it get cold enough to wear my sherpa crocs!!

We are also going in December and I bought my girls a lot of jumper style dresses that can be worn with or without a shirt and leggings underneath. Planning on bringing some lightweight cardigans as well as the heavier stuff.

:cloud9:

If you are looking for minimal carrying, I would recommend that you go with sneakers and thin socks, capris, a short sleeve t-shirt that can be worn under a sweatshirt in the morning. When the day warms up, you can tie the sweatshirt around your waist and be hands free! Works for me!

December weather is so unpredictable that you are best off checking the extended forecast before your trip and packing accordingly. We've gone twice in December and were in shorts and tshirts both trips. We wore Crocs or sandals as well. The temps were usually in the upper 60's in the morning and then in the 70's during the day - perfect park weather. But I've also heard it can go down into the 40's in December. You just never know.

December weather is always unpredictable, as others have pointed out. We were down at WDW last year, and for Canadians, it was downright HOT! We had brought long sleeves and jeans/khaki's, and ended up buying short sleeves to get through the week.

In terms of shoes, I wore my Keen Portola's. However, I WISHED I had brought my Keen Newports - would have been much cooler on the tooties.

I would just watch the weather, and try to plan as best as possible based on your family's comfort level with the temps...

Check accuweather.com a day or so before your trip, but still pack a little of everything. I've been down there for the same week the last three Decembers and the weather seems to take turns. Dec 04 was very warm shorts and T's weather, Dec '05 we froze all week even with coats, tobaggans, and scarves, then last Dec I wore shorts, flip flops, and Tshirts all week. The winter stuff never came out of my suitcase. With Dec you just never know.
