shoes for wide feet? getting desperate

I have to vote for FitFlops! I love them. I have a wide foot and a bone spur that has grown into my achilles tendon, so I cannot wear shoes with backs for an extended amount of time without pain afterwards. Fit Flops are supportive and have a thicker sole. I love them!

I have wide feet too. My keens are almost too tight on me. I had to go up a size to get them to fit the width of my foot, and they kind of look funny on me. This trip I decided to take a chance and try something different. I got some Teva Zirra sandals and I love them. They are more comfortable than my keens, they are fully adjustable, and pretty cute. They dry really fast too. I got mine on eBay, but you can get them at Amazon, and Zappos too.

The boys had wide feet and high insteps, so nothing but Stride Rite as children. Now the whole family wears New Balance. I got two pairs of 846s about two weeks before my last trip to WDW. I've gotten more of the same since, andIi still call them the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. Get fitted at a New Balance store wearing good socks. They sell good socks if you need some.

I'll swear by NurseMates. I own a pair in black and 2 pairs in white. And they make them for my extra wide feet too. They are made to be comfort when you're on your feet a lot.

I use Shoeline.com Free shipping and returns. Always had great service with them so I never really looked anywhere else. They also email me special offers.

I've never tried zappos before but you could compare prices on both sites.

(wasnt sure where to put this post) ok kids, we leave on the 19th of October and Ive been searching for shoes for months..am freaking out! I have some decent clarks sneakers but reeeally dont want to wear black sneakers and socks with capris/in the heat etc. any ideas? all NY stores Ive tried are out or do nto carry wides. NOBODY EVER DOES (whats wiht that? my kids are both wide too and we have such a hard time) Id prefer some type of sandal, and if it can be less $ the better, though I know thats a tall order. I have a pair of W hush puppies but they are iffy to wear all day. I literally own nothing else right now unless I want to wear heels lol.

I really hope someone has a suggestion...or mama will be in major foot pain :(

easy spirit makes EEE wide, and they are so comfortable!

i am having this exact same problem!! i leave on the 21st and i have flat, wide, AND huge feet. :( i can never find any shoes. it's quite depressing. i am freaking out about what kind of shoes to wear because we are pretty much going to be in the parks from open to close. but i want something stylish lol like flats

Zappos, like others said.

Fantastic shipping, easy returns.

I've had to send back shoes that were too narrow and had no problems with them shipping out the wider pair pretty quick.

And I love Propets.

Their wide width is perfect for me, very wide toe box. The shoes are comfortable, I'm almost afraid to admit they are currently the only brand I'm wearing. The inserts are machine washable, if the whole shoe isn't. And they wash just fine.

The only down side is that the mesh sneakers (Travel Walkers) aren't great on wet days. The solid sneakers are fine, but I had the mesh ones first and stepping in wet wasn't fun on a cool day.

I haven't tried the sandals yet but since I've had great luck with all the other shoes from them I expect they would be great too.

I should also add I've had a planter facisitis flare up a few years ago and considerable pain in one ankle from multiple breaks as a kid. I had a knack for that. My Travel Walkers went to Disney with me last trip and definitely kept me going way longer than other heftier shoes would have.

I have wide feet, too, and hate shoe shopping (and shopping in general, but that's another story). Stores like DSW and Shoe Carnival never carry wides. I longed to be able to wear an outdoorsy shoe like Keens, and finally came across the Merrell Cambrian Emme. I bought a half size up, and they're great. Pretty cute, too...I'm going to alternate these and my Saucony running shoes on our trip. They run around $100, although I saw them online earlier for more like $70.

I have a wide foot too, and New Balance is generally my go-to shoe. No, they aren't cheap, but I've found with wide feet, I can't do cheap shoes. If you have a TJMaxx or Marshalls nearby, check there. They often have New Balance in wide. With that being said, I just bought a pair of Saucony there last week for $34.99 that I'm breaking in for our trip in 2-1/2 weeks. They are a "M" wide shoe on the tag, but they are as wide as my "W" New Balance. Very roomy. Again, getting back to the fact that wide shoes generally don't come cheap, Nordstrom usually carries a pretty good selection of wide shoes. They often had big sales a couple of times a year, and offer free shipping (including returns). Also, if you're looking for sandals, I love Birkenstocks. I've been wearing a pair for 2+ years now and they still look great and are super comfortable. When I was pregnant, I extended out the straps to accommodate by even wider feet.

I am a women's 11 Wide. I walked 11 days in the parks, wearing nothing but original ugly Crocs (with socks!!!) I kept expecting Stacy and Clinton to jump out of the bushes at any moment!! But I didn't care, and my feet never bothered me a minute. I wouldn't even attempt the parks in anything but Crocs. It is the only truly comfortable shoe I have ever owned.

It's horrible trying to find shoes for wide feet, my whole family has this issue.

shoes.com carries wide and extra wide

I've recently been lucky enough to find a Stan's Bootery where I live. I'm not sure if it's just a local store, but they carry stylish shoes for hard-to-fit feet.

My daughter and mother both have wide feet. My mom swears by Easy Spirit and my DD loves Crocs. I don't know where in NY you are, but the Tanger outlets in Riverhead have both easy spirit and crocs...the one in Deer Park has easy spirit for sure, but I don't know about Crocs.

Another 10W shoe wearer here! Zappos is your friend! I just got some Hush Puppy flats for work from there and I love them! I'll be orderning a new pair of Brooks running shoes there soon, too. I'm an overpronator, so Brooks running shoes are the best for my feet. I got fitted for them a few years ago at a local running store and I won't buy any other sneakers now. But I will order them from Zappos now that I know my size! :) As for the parks, I have a pair of Men's Tevas that I love as well as a pair of women's Keens (bought an 11 so they'd be wide enough). Crocs work for my feet, too.

Glad I'm not the only one with crazy wide feet!
