All of our trips I wore my sneakers, but this trip I figure I would wear some of my skinny jeans. The skinny jeans with sneakers look terrible so I was thinking some flats would look cute. I order some Cole haan flats (with the nike air technology). I will break them in before our trip. Has anyone used this flats around the parks? Opinions?

UPDATE

My opinion is stop worrying about how your sneakers look with your skinny jeans! No one is going to be looking at your feet - they're going to be looking at all the magical things in Disneyworld and couldn't care less about your shoes!

You do so much walking in Disneyworld, just forget what it looks like and wear the most comfortable shoes you own :)

I haven't used them. Just wanted to say that Sketcher's Go Walk are really comfortable for long walks, and they're pretty cute.

Aw. Its hard to have fun and be comfortable when you're worried about how you look, so I don't agree that it doesn't matter what you wear because "no one is looking at your feet."

I JUST found some Skechers GoWalk shoes that are like ballet flats. They are just as comfy as my normal GoWalk sneakers (My FAVE shoes for Disney World), but they look a lot cuter with skinnies.

I have them in the silver color and I wear them with skinny jeans for work all the time. Super comfy but also cute.

Crocs makes flats/dress shoes.

I'm not saying you want to wear them, and they are rather ugly, but its an option.

I agree with others in saying that you are at Disney and nobody cares what your feet look like. I take that back. I've seen girls tour the parks in 4 inch heels. I thought they were out of their minds.

But why should you be worried about how you look? You're at Disney World, not out on a date. No one's going to be pointing at you and laughing because you're wearing sneakers instead of cute flats. (Although they might if you're wearing high heels or something equally impractical for the amount of walking you'll be doing. ;))

Sometimes it's not about what other people think of what you're wearing. It's about what YOU think of what you're wearing. Many people totally don't care and that's fine, but some people take how they look seriously and if they are wearing something that makes them insecure because it doesn't look right to them, then its going to be a bother.

I am the type of person who doesn't really care what other people think of things I do/wear/say in or out of Disney World, but I can completely understand those who do.

And I have worn skinny jeans with sneakers before and I agree with the OP that it looks awkward and I didn't feel at my best because of it. Did I run home and get changed? No, I stuck it out through my day and did what I needed to do, but I didn't feel 100% like myself.

Personal preference, etc etc.

I don't know about flats; I have rotten luck finding flats that are even comfortable enough for daily life. My feet would be a blistered mess wearing them at Disney.

I do think you can wear *some* sneakers with skinny jeans: Chucks, Keds, and low-profile retro sneakers (like the Saucony Bullet). Another option is Toms. I've worn mine with some comfy ankle boots to Disney; that's another option if the weather is cool enough.

It is not because anyone is going to be looking at my shoes, because I could care less about other people. Is about me, I just wouldn't wear that, just like I won't wear my pj pants out of the house or wear and outfit that doesn't match. On the subject of other people caring there has been post here of "what were they wearing" and not only here but blogs, facebook, etc.

I agree with you crocks are ugly! I also think those girls are out of their minds but I know some girls that work on their feet 8+ hrs a day and wear heels all day and their feet are use to. In fact my mom used to wear heels all day everyday, when she tried using flats her calf would hurt.

I agree with that list of sneakers I just don't own any of them and I though if I am going to spend money in new shoes it should be shoes that I will wear again.
I am thinking of taking my boots if it is cold, since it will be later this month I know the weather can be tricky.

I've worn flats in the parks. It's really just about what you can handle.

I wore some flats I bought at Disney and I was fine in them all day...very cute black ones with polka dots. They felt like my keds flats I got several years ago and were comfy...I tested them out at work the week before where I am on my feet for 9+ hours a day to make sure they were okay before wearing them in the parks.

I also have some flats I bought at Kohls that have memory foam insoles...like walking on pillows. They come in some very cute, bright colors and also solid black and brown. I have some teal ones that I like to wear with my skinny jeans for a pop of color.

Whatever you decide to go with...just make sure you give them a couple of good test runs to make sure you can handle wearing them all day when you are on your feet a lot.

I definitely agree with pp's saying that no one cares what you look like in the parks lol, I hear more about "wow that outfit is really impractical for a theme park" or "really? heels?" kinda things than anything else.

That being said, I've done flats in the parks, usually only for half days or Halloween parties, and they've been fine, as long as they're not super cheap quality they usually don't hurt, and switch them out the next day with other shoes/sandals and you're fine!

I personally live in Toms while I'm down there, they work with pants, skinny jeans, dresses, shorts, everything! And they're super comfy and have enough support for a day of walking (for me)

I'm not big on sneakers, but I wore them in the parks until I discovered Bernie Mevs. Now those are the only shoes I wear at WDW. You have to wear them once for a few hours before your trip so the elastic band stretches to fit your foot and then you are good to go. I can walk in the parks from open to close in them without my feet even getting tired!

I am bringing Skechers Go Walks Mary Janes and Tieks ballet flats. My Tieks are what I normally wear for plane travel and they *may* work for the parks.

How about Toms? They look cute with skinnies and probably more comfortable than a ballet flat. I also own a pair of flats that are similar to ballet flats, but made by Puma so they have a little thicker of a sole and are more "sporty" I guess. Whatever you get, I highly recommend breaking them in well before your trip - I have learned this lesson the hard way!

Last month we were at DL and I wore a pair of these:

Minnetonka Moccasins Kilty Suede Mocs with a hardsole.

I tend to have problems with my feet if my shoes aren't right and I went all day long from 7:30am until 10pm wearing them with no problem. Lots of cute colors to pick from (they also have animal print ones too!)

Another vote for TOMS! I wear them all the time at work as well as my past 2 Disney vacations and they have been really great for my feet! I'd be lying if I said that me feet didn't hurt at ALL at the end of the day- but I do 10+ hour days at Disney World, and had the same experience wearing Toms as I did with gym shoes. I like that they're lightweight and don't make my feet hot when the temperature rises. :) Oh and they're super cute with skinny jeans!

The toms website has a lot of options, but Nordstrom also has some cute Nordstrom exclusive designs. :)

And it's great that you want to try and look good at the parks (just like it's great for the people who don't care what anyone thinks about them!)- I'm sure you'll be taking a lot of pictures and I know personally I can't ever show pictures to people if I don't like how I look in them. :P

Per Mrs. awdwnut, Sketcher's Go Walk's are the "best of all worlds" when it comes to a ladies shoe for WDW. She prefers them to any of the expensive tennis shoes that she has tried in the past and she tried quite a few of those before finding the Go Walks.

It really depends on your feet, and probably how far you plan to walk in them.

I know lots of older women who regret that they wore heals too much when they were younger. Uncomfortable shoes worn all day at a place like WDW can do permanent damage to your feet. So whatever shoes you pick (especially for all day wear), comfort on your feet should be your top priority.

At WDW, what is your priority? Is it to look good, for a few hours, then retreat. Or is it to ride as many attractions as you can.

Lots of times, I dress up-ish for dinner. Lots of time we only wear our long pants at night. So if that's the case, then you can get away with more pretty shoes perhaps. (Though often after dinner we sometimes go back to Mk for another six hours!) it really depends how long you plan to be on your feet, and how much you want your footware to be a limitation on your endurance. Personally if I told my family we had to go back very early because my shoes were pinching my feet, they'd be unhappy with me. I have made the mistake of wearing flip flops too long and regretted it the next day. It's not just one day your feet have to feel good, it's every day of your trip. Otherwise you'll be stuck in your room while everyone else had fun, or using a wheelchair. Foot injuries at WDw are no fun. I've been to WDW a number of times where someone in the family has a sore foot/leg, and it is no fun. (then we tend to go commando, and have a saying, "It's not a real trip unless we come home limping!" But we have days where we open MK at 9am then close it down at 3am!)

I've had good luck with sandals and even some fancy flip flops. the flats I've had don't usually have enough arch support for me. I had a pair of Crocs flats that were okay, but I could not wear them all day. I only wore them if it was raining. They are dark blue and don't look like crocs. They aren't perfectly stylish, but they would be fine with skinny jeans.

Also, with skinny jeans, remember you are going to be getting in and out of rides all day. Some would be fine, others..Well, I hate to think about climbing into Space Mtn wearing very skinny jeans. And if you are wearing skinny jeans, you do NOT want to go on WET rides like Kali or Splash. You also don't want to wear a white t-shirt - if you catch my drift. It is a family park after all! you get attention for your looks, but probably not the kind you want :scared:!
Oh, I have seen folks rip their pants at WDW! Also not a pretty site!

Because of a foot problem I picked up some ortho-heel shoes that worked great for our trip. I love the look of flat with the support of sneakers. You can find them at Hammacher Schlemmer's site or just google. Prices can vary a bit so shop around a bit. I won't go any other way for future trips.
