What kind of shoes have you had good experience with with your kids in the parks?
DD4 has the Imelda Marcos starter set :rotfl2: and Im having a hard time picking a few pairs to take. She loves her crocs but I dont know if I should convince her that tennis shoes are better for walking all day.
Thoughts? Ideas?

My kiddos are 11, 9, 5, and 2. I'm bringing a pair of tennis shoes and a pair of crocs for each. From what I've heard on the boards, the crocs are the comfiest!

If your kids are going to be in a stroller (I would recommend a stroller--the average person walks about 8-9 miles a day during a full day at WDW!), it doesn't matter as much what kind of shoes they wear. I'd be more concerned about your own feet as you have to push a stroller or carry tired kids around:) . Anyways, I found that tennis shoes got really hot to wear and my athletic flip-flops were much more comfortable. Since then, though, I have discovered Airwalks (the Payless brand of Crocs)--I wear them, and only them, every day. They are so comfortable! My kids (8 and 4) wore tennis shoes, sandals, or flip-flops when we were there. Good luck!

My older 2 girls (5,4) wore their Crocs for our last 3 vacations....we also bring our stroller. They are much cooler than sneakers and if it rains(which it does often..lol) they dry super quick.

Well for my kids it was the Keen's that they loved(have not tried crocs) My 3 year old *at the time. LOVED his. Wouldn't take them off. Said they my comfy shoes.

We bought my DS a pair of shoes from stride rite for $70, he has extra wide feet and he a pair of crocs, the days he wore his tennis shoes from stride rite, he complained of his feet hurting, never did he complain when he wore his crocs.
I was surprised but he loves his crocs!

I'm thinking about getting Crocs for me & the kids, & I want the black disney Crocs. Do you think that the black will make them to hot to wear down there? Or should I opt for a lighter color?

I havent tried doing the crocs yet at the parks...I know my girls have always worn Teva's with the really good soles. This gave us the most flexibility in terms of not worry about getting feet wet on some rides...and at the same time they could still climb on things..like in the honey i shrunk kids play area in mgm etc.

i would imagine if they are not running or climbing then crocs would be the most comfy!

sneakers alwyas became a pain for us...one wet sneaker an we never hear the end of it..

We have always worn our Teva's or our tennis shoes, depending on the weather- We LOVE our TEVA's! :)

My kids DD9 and DS7 have always worn the LL Bean kids version of TEVAs. We make sure that they have been wearing them and have broken them in. It allows wa there feet to be cooler than sneakers and if there feet get wet they are still comfortable. They are also great to have for the water parks instead of water shoes. We do let them switch to sneakers for the evening if we don't forsee any rain. It gives there feet a change. I have to reitterate what a previous poster said about wet sneakers. My DD got her first pair of crocs for christmas so i have no experience with them.

Don't forget to sun screen tha tops of their feet if they wear sandals.

my youngest this year will be in tennis shoes, what ever b/c she'll be in the stroller most of the time, or in a sling, and my 4 y, 6 y and me will be in crocs, dh will wear who knows what i don't care LOL he refused crocs so he can suffer! LOL

Crocs and Tevas are the only shoes we're bringing for the kids. And for myself, come to think of it! :lmao:

I agree with Crocs and tennis shoes. DD wore her tennis shoes with charms on the laces with her princess dresses. She wanted to wear buckle shoes, but we had to put a stop to that quickly.

I have to ask...what are crocs? I feel out of the loop. Everyone is talking about them and I have no idea what they are.:confused3

My ds 7 wore his Tevas the hole vacation and never had any problems. My ds 3 alternated between tevas, crocs, and tennis shoes. He did not do as much walking though, as he was in and out of the stroller.

Another vote for crocs! Last year I wore my tennis shoes the first day, and my feet were sore by midday. The rest of the week I wore my crocs and never had a complaint. My kids both wore their crocs all day every day...ran, climbed, rode rides, got them wet, etc and they were great! Got new Disney crocs for them for our next trip!

We are also a Crocs and New Balance tennis shoes family and that is what we are taking to Disney. DD got some of the pink Mickey Mouse ones for Christmas. We leave on Sat. I have worked in the Medical field(Surgery) for 20+ years and you can always tell the most comfortable shoes by looking at what OR personel and surgeons are wearing. We stand on our feet on concrete all day. Crocs, New Balance and Merrill win hands down.
