My DS and I am going on a land/sea package August 18th (we added to extra days at WDW) and I know I saw a posting on comfortable shoes for all the walking done at WDW. In 2004 we were there for a week and the second day I developed a blister on my toe while wearing sneakers. I wore sandals the next day but they don't give you the support you need so I just suffered through. I saw a thread but I couldn't locate it again that suggested a sneaker/sandal but I didn't write down the name of the shoe. Help!

Do a search on this forum for Walking Sandals and the thread should come up. There's another thread for Crocs - which I purchased on the advise I got from the Walking Sandal thread and they are FANTASTIC - The most comfortable shoe I have ever owned :)

Another vote for Crocs! ::yes:: And, I have also had great luck with my Teva Stratum sandals, even without breaking them in too much beforehand...Nice, soft, cushiony soles to absorb all that concrete walking shock! Good luck! :)

Ugly as sin but comfortable....

Wear mine whenever I will be doing a lot of walking--

Can't live without them. The black ones aren't soooo bad-but I usually wear funny socks underneath

We were at WDW over Christmas and I wore Crocs everyday, everywhere I went. This is the first time that my feet haven't hurt after all that walking. Yes, they are ugly, but as long as my feet are happy, who cares? :cool1:

I bought these great shoes and sandals from Zappos.com called Propet. I LOVE THEM! They are the most comfortable shoe I own. I love my sandals and was tickled to get my regular shoes of the same brand from Boscov's at a great discount.

My advice is were what you have been wearing at home. I never buy or take new hoes. If I've been wearing some shoe around home and my feet are happy in them, they ought to be overjoyed in Disney. New shoes are hard to break in and one month isn'r enough time. Probably the most comfortablist shoes I take are a 10 year old pair of .99 tongs that only go to WDW and a pair of them 9.99 felt slip on shoes. Thats it, no foot or toe problems for me.

BIRKENSTOCK sandals all the way. The most comfortable sandal I've wore. Last trip my DH, DD7 & DS5 wore them for 8 days. Well worth the money with NO feet problems. Good luck finding something and enjoy your trip!

I used to be a big TEVA fan until I started wearing Keens, and that is all I wear these days, Keen Shoes, Keen Sandals, Keen Sneakers. They are great!

The best thing we have found is not a shoe, but Body Glide. You can buy it for about $7 at any sports store. It comes in an applicator like a deodorant and you just rub it all over your feet and on any other parts that are prone to chaffing. It lasts all day and is waterproof and sweat proof. We used this on our last eight day trip where we spent every day, all day on our feet and there were no foot troubles at all.

If you do the Crocs (which I also recommend) then I suggest you wear some sort of sock with them. I wore mine for only 1/2 day on our last trip and began to develop a raw spot on the top of my foot. Wore them the next day with socks and had no problems!

It's so funny to hear so many people talk about Crocs, I work in a nursing home and a lot of people there wear them so I can't think of them as anything but a work shoe! We are going the end of Dec, depending on the weather I plan on bringing my Uggs! They are the most comfortable shoe I own. I have also heard Teva's are very comfortable.

If your feet are in good shape overall, try Crocs.
If you need more support normally, use your most supportive athletic shoe, but with BodyGlide to keep from chafing (you can use bodyglide elsewhere for the same purpose...great stuff!)
You might even consider bringing 2 or 3 pairs of different shoes, so if you start to get footsore with one, you can trade off.

Another vote here for Tevas. I always bring 2-3 pairs of different sandals with me. I have problems with my right foot with a fasceitis (sorry can't spell it), which causes a lot of pain through my foot. Anytime, I stop back in the room, I change my shoes which helps me to keep going. I just can't wear the same shoes all day.

I was actually surprised by how well I did wearing my crocs for most of my trip last month. The first day, I wore sneakers and developed a blister. I put on crocs to give my feet more room, and wound up wearing them the rest of the week. They were great (even if they are hideous). I have bad ankles, and a heel problem, so I usually need a lot of support, but those crocs worked just fine for me.

My Crocs saved me on our trip last August. Wore my regular tennis (that I wear a lot at home) the first day and had major foot and leg pain from walking so much. Tried my Crocs the second day and wore them everyday thereafter. I couldn't believe how comfortable they are-- but they are really ugly!
