Shoe size for 11 year old??????

Okay, today is Michael's 11th birthday. He's run through his shoes so I bought him a new pair this morning.

Along with his age he wears a size 11!! And that's a MAN'S size!

Help me, we only have little feet girls in my family so I'm wondering is this NORMAL????? I wear a 6.

He's five feet tall with size 11 shoes... what will happen when he hits his growth spurt????

I'm not shocked, he's been going through shoes all his life. I was looking longingly at the cute little character shoes I used to buy just a few years ago. Well, that's far from over. I'm over where the basketballers buy their shoes!

Robin I feel your pain! I have a feeling I'll be in the same situation in a few years too. My DS Isaiah is 5 and wears a size 5 (he's also 4ft 2 already). We realized at Christmas that his feet are bigger than my 10 year old brothers (who is in a 4). Isaiah's dad is 6 ft 7 though and wears a size 15 shoe so I was kind of expecting this. It just hurts to have to spend $20 more on the 'Big boy" size shoes...I'm sure it'll be even worse when he makes the leap into the "man" shoes like your DS

All I can say is......WOW!! My son, who will be 14 in March and is 5'5" (at least he was last time I checked!! ) only wears a 8 1/2 - 9!! I thought that was big! He's going to pass you in height in no time flat!! I think looking up to my son wasn't too hard to get used to...it's just when he bends over to give me a kiss that I am floored at how big he's getting!

Yeah, for an 11 yo, that's pretty big.

My ds is 12 and wears a size 9. I thought that was big but he told me he has small feet compared to his friends. Most wear an 11.

LOL Robin my 2 oldest are like that. My oldest was in a 12 when he was 12....He is now 16 and wears a size 14--and is he over 6 ft tall. BTW he is a Michael too, lol
Ds who is 13 is in a 11.
Looks like we are going to have some tall guys

I have two cousins who are both 6' and both wear size 13. Their younger brother who is 12 and about 5'5" and wears a mans 10, and according to the doctor he will out grow both of them.

My 12 1/2 yr old DS is almost 5' and wears a 5 1/2 or 6. Still waiting on that growth spurt! His 5 1/2 is about equal to my 7 1/2.
DH wears a 9 1/2, so I don't see DS having huge feet.

DH has a 13 year old cousin who is 6'3" (at least) and wears a size 17 shoe! His Mom says she has to have them made special.

I have a 13 year old DS that wears a size 10.... He is 5'5".

Then 11 year old DS wears a 10 EEEE.... He is also 5'5".

No growth 'spurt' for either yet..... both just steadily gain height at a slow pace.

The older one is predicted by our Dr. at an adult height of 6'6", the younger one 6'8" or taller.

Time will tell!

They way they are putting away the groceries, nothing would surprise me!!!!!

When DD Sarah was 13yo, she was wearing a women's size 13. She was glad to turn 14yo so that she can "act her age and not her shoe size".

It's tough finding pretty shoes in size 13.

I knew he was going to pass me in every way when he was 2. The doctor took one look at him and said "okay, WHERE did he get his height from, not YOU!"....

His Dad is only 6', but his GRANDMOTHER is 6 feet tall! My ex has had Crohn's disease since this teens and they think it stunted his growth. I can only imagine that he should've passed his mother.

BTW, Michael's feet are bigger than HIS, too....

I know my future... specialized shoes like Shaq!

At least I see I'm not alone, even with a girl like John's! Wow, a size 13!

Well, my growing days are long gone, I think, and 6' 6" checking in here. Most of my adult life I wore 13's, probably from my early teen years on. But in recent years, maybe past 5, I have 'upgraded' to 14's. Either my feet got bigger, or I am less vain in my old age, LOL, and not sticking to my petite 13's.

My son just turned 11 on Dec. 21, and he wears a size 6. I have a hard time finding him shoes though, because most mens sizes start at size 7, and a lot of kids' sizes stop at 5 or so. There really isn't much to choose from.

It does seem kids have bigger feet today. I'm 5'5 wear size 7. My daughter is only 5'2 and wears a 9 (she's in her 20's so done growing). My son is 6'3 and wears a 13. It just amazes me that these are normal sizes for kids.
