Shoe advice, please

Fashion is pain. No hose - open toes.

However - what color is your cocktail dress? Can you link me to a picture?

It's possible - with the direction fashion is heading - that you could do black tights, with black shoes, and it be incredibly cool looking - but that depends on the dress.

All that being said - no tan/nude hose ever, at all.

And that's my fashion do's/dont's for today. :)

I live in NYC and have close friends in the fashion industry and hose are definitely not passé, not sure where folks are getting their information. Textured stockings are HUGE this year as well as dark tights worn with open-toed shoes or boots. Watch any videos of the NYC or Milan fashion shows and that's what they are all showing. If you don't feel comfortable wearing textured or darker stockings for the wedding, Donna Karan has great toeless nude stockings that are a huge seller. Most major department stores like Bloomingdales or Saks has them or you can order them online: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2888970...rol_top_toeless_hosiery:2128&cm_ven=yahoo_ssp.

The biggest thing is wear what makes you feel best about yourself!

See?? That's what I said!

It's gonna depend on your dress though - IMO.

Oooo! I like it!!! :thumbsup2

I think I would actually like that BETTER with a fantastic pair of shiny dark tights, and black heels - honestly.

Thats a dress that works with tights. Love it! :thumbsup2

That's good to know.

I'd go with pantyhose and closed toe pumps. I don't like pantyhose (I'll wear them if need be). But even worse, I don't like to be cold!

I think I need someone to give me a link to what kind of black tights you all are talking about.

I'm going to disagree, that is NOT a dress that would look good with tights! :scared1: It's a BEAUTIFUL dress, but way too delicate and dark for the opaqueness of tights.

If you really, really must wear nylons, go with ULTRA SHEER black nylons...the sheerest you can find...and close-toed dressy black pumps.

I still think strappy sandals or even dressy sling-backs and bare legs would look best with it, but I know that some ladies just are not comfortable with bare legs.

DEFINITELY a vote for very, very, very SHEER black nylons and no part of your foot showing with the shoe, if nylons are a must.
